Fed up playing with Birmingham

At the moment i have been playing as Birmingham city and i am rarely winning or come to think of it draw. I havent realy made any masive signings just brought a few defenders which blues really need and with a transfer budget of around 6 million you cannt really do a fat lot and for loaning we cannt afford the wages of the majority of the top players. I have tryed playing a defensive formation (4-1- 4-1) (5-4-1) and a attacking formation (4-4-2). I can hardly score goals and concede to many goals.
Can any one help me with any tatics (formations) and players to buy

With 6 million quid you can do a lot. Get rid of deadwood to reduce wages, then start buying in youngsters for a happeny.
 
I recommend Dalla Valle, Drincic, Rat and O'Hara. All did well for me. Especially Drincic, O'Hara and Rat. Only cost me £5M. (H)
 
Dalle Valle is a beast a few years into the game. Highly recommended :)
