Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson says managers should be free to discuss performances of officials, providing any criticism is justifiable.

He's right. The FA are pretty much eradicating freedom of speech with every decision they make. It's a transparent facist regime pretty much. I understand the 'officials' have a very tough job(within a footballing context), but for ****'s sake they need to stop being pampered, to get on with their job and managers should be able to say what the **** they like regarding their performances within reason, without fear of repercussions.

A bit of constructive critisism here and there never hurt anyone but he makes it out as if the refereeing staff are out to get Manchester United, yet when comments are made against decisions that benefit his team, he throws a paddy. The referees are just doing their job and at the pace of the way the Premier League is played, it is easy to make one or two mistakes. Ref's not long ago were critisised for not giving enough advantages and stopping the game too often, but now that they are giving advantages, they are critisised for missing vital decisions, they just can't win. I feel sorry for them really.

Yes criticism is fine, however whenit comes to bringing their integrity into the equation then a line needs to be drawn.

Why do the media feel the need to keep bringing this up? It's ridiculous, we've been through this so many times ffs.

Agree completely with Alex above. Criticism is fine, questioning integrity isn't on.
