Hi everybody, I am new on this forum, just bought the game 1 week ago and have a few questions about coaching. Sry for my english, I am french but like this forum very much :p
I went on a lot of forum but didn't find the answers:

_ I have young Regen coaches, are they gonna improve their stats ?
_ I noticed that Regen coaches have really extrem stats: I have some who have 20 in the technical attributes I need but around 5 in mental attributes. That still give me a 4 stars coach in his field though. Does it matter that he is really poor in Determination or Motivation or is it just the number of stars that matters whatever the general balance of attributes? Are you gonna have a difference between a 4 stars coach who is average everywhere and one that has exterm attributes ?
_ Are the impacts of the marks in "Adaptability" and "Working with youth" importants ? Does someone know what are precisely the impact of these attributes ? Are there "studies" about that ?
_ Is it important for example to have french coaches if you play a french team ?

Thank you in advance for your answers and remember that my questions are all IN THE FM CONTEXT. Not hypothesis that it works like that in reality so it should be the same in FM 2010 cause we all know that FM 2010 is complex but not as precise as reality !

I can only really answer assumptions, but here I go:

I generally try to look for coaches that excel in in DDM *Discipline, Determination, Motivation) as well as adaptability, as I find those guys develop their other stats a lot better, and they also tend to be a lot more versatile in what they can coach.
Not sure exactly, as coaches progress rather differently than players, and I heard that a professional squad and good training facilities also play a huge part in it.
So far I was always kind of lucky, and most of my coaches get a lot better, with only the occasional guy dropping half a star or so.

I'm sure adaptability plays a part as well, especially for tactical training and more so if his preferred position is different from your tactics.

I never had any problems with language barrier, but I guess short of making a test with an identical squad, identical coaches and different languages for a season, it's really hard to tell.

Usually, I don't care where a coach comes from, but I tend to sign at least one or two coaches of the nationality of a player that tends to get home-sick/has trouble fitting in or such.

Working with youngsters is important if the coaches are not only first-team staff, and it's one of the attributes I require of my assistant manager. In general, 12 is the minimum I want of any coach, more is better, but rarely ever less.
