I have few questions about youth training. I' ve searched the forum, but couldnt find answers to all my questions.

My U18 new players always come with "full contract". So i cant train them with my youth coach. They train with coaches and i see them in 1st team's training screen.

i just want to understand the mechanisms, so some of my questions are;

- I have 2 coaches on "ball control", and one of them is a 1st team coach and he is a 4 star coach, the other is just for workload. Since 1st team coaches doesnt train U18 players, do they get trained by the crappy coach? or lets say the 1st team coach is the only one training ball control. does that mean my U18 players not properly trained? (Although, even i leave only the 1st team coach on ball control, the number of players on that category doesnt change)

- Even though they got trained by normal coaches and i see them on my 1st team's training page, they still benefit from youth training facilities, right?

- So, is it best for me to upgrade my youth coaches to "coach" and try to put, in each training category, a coach with good "working with youngsters" attribute?

- Lets say there are 2 coaches on a category. one of them is a good coach, the other crappy.. and the crappy one has good "working with youngsters", and the other fails there. how does this situation effects the young players?

Thanks for helping..

Here is my attempt at answering. This is how I think it works.

Your 1st team coach can only work with players in your first team and your reserve team. If you only have a 1st team coach and a youth coach, your 1st team coach (the good one) coaches all your 1st team and Reserve team players, while your youth coach (the crappy one) coaches the U-18 team. There is no other option in this case.

As far as I know, only players on your under-18 team benefit from youth facilities.

- So, is it best for me to upgrade my youth coaches to "coach" and try to put, in each training category, a coach with good "working with youngsters" attribute?
You should definitely offer a new contract to your good 1st team coach and make him a regular coach so that you get the benefit of his star rating on all of your players including your U-18s.

- Lets say there are 2 coaches on a category. one of them is a good coach, the other crappy.. and the crappy one has good "working with youngsters", and the other fails there. how does this situation effects the young players?
I am not sure on this.

Some notes:

1. As far as I know, "working with youngsters" only comes into play when that coach is working with the U-18 players. The "man management" is more applicable for the 1st and Reserve team players.

2. Try to concentrate on getting a coach that is 4 stars or above in each training category and make them plain old "coach." If any of them are not good with youngsters (below 15 for me), look for a 4 star coach in that same training category that is and hire them as a youth coach only (this will save some wage). Then use the "coach" on all first team and reserve players, and the "youth coach" on just the U-18s

3. Hire one young and cheap coach (if you have the space available) and give him a contract as a "coach," then use him as the person who lowers workload wherever that is needed on your regular team, or your U-18 (youth team). It doesn't really matter what his attributes are as he is just used to make sure you always have a light workload on every category.

Hope that helps some.

Basically, your coaches can sign three types of contracts.

Coach - Can train 1st team, reserve and youth players.
1st Team Coach - Can train 1st team and reserve only.
Youth Coach - Can train Youth only.

Going by what you said, I think you mean the first type i.e "coach" as what you call 1st Team Coach. If that's the case, then there is no need to worry as even your youth players will benefit from his coaching skill.

Youth Training benefits only players on a Youth contract.

KopOut already answered the questions you asked, I just thought I'd give you reaffirmation!

By the way, all your youth players come with full time contracts? What ages are they and what country are you playing in? Just curious.

My "coach" trains them with "1st team coach". My "youth coach" cant train anyone since I have no "youth contract" player. But I guess it wont change anything. What I get from your answer is that my crappy "coach" will train my U18.

Then, since my "youth coach" have no use, its better I should upgrade them to "coach" too.

As I said before, since I dont have any "youth contract player", "youth coach" have no use for me.. But I will do what you said with "coach".

Thank you for your reply.

Are you talking about "youth training facilities" here or just "training" ?

Yes, they always come with full time contract and they are 15-16 years old.. I'm playing in Turkish league with Galatasaray..
