Ive been debating whether or not to upgrade from 2012 to this years footy manager or not for a while now. I didnt like footy manager 2013 for the main reason that i either never won games or did well for half a season then didnt win again.

Ive been playing the 2014 demo and Ive been quite enjoying it, I like all the new features, but having read many of the reviews and threads on here Ive been put off. Mainly because people say the match engine is really bad. My big problem is I dont want to buy the game, start of doing really well then it all go downhill for no reason at all.

Have the patches improved the match engine and sorted out the initial problems that Ive read about, and do people think the game has longevity in it, i tend to usually play about 11 seasons (2012 footy manager) where as with 2013 i would barely play one season.

The demo is up to date. If you like the demo, you'll like the full game. Trust your own judgement based on your experience with the demo over any review.

In my honest opinion and experience from playing the game I have had no problems with the Match Engine. There have been a few frustrations due to balancing issues (like hitting woodwork too often for example) but otherwise it has been fine and much more realistic.

I would recommend the game to you, but it's your money and you need to decide whether you will get your money's worth and enjoy it which I certainly have been.
