Admittedly, I have only tried this with one team, Eastleigh in the Skrill South, feel free to try it out with other teams and let me know. I did this with the formation 4-1-3-2, with one defensive CM and 3 other CMs in front, purely because my team had no strong wingers. I went attacking every game, but chose balanced, neither fluid or rigid reflects styles in lower leagues. With team instructions I chose to go in hard, close down the opposition, those are the most important instructions, the rest is up to you, how you want your team to play, I chose to retain possession and deliver mixed balls up top. What is key, is that you have each player in their natural position, and make sure they are strong in the role that you give them, there is no point having a 5 star player playing in a role that he's a 1 star in. I've always thought it's best to have a Target Man and an Advanced Forward/Poacher up front, but as long as you have a Target Man, you can experiment for yourself.
As far as training goes, for pre season and the first few match weeks I set heavy workloads on team cohesion and tactics, and after my team got fairly familiar with the tactic I changed the focus onto Attacking, and Attacking movement, and left it on heavy workload, ignore all the players being winey little b*tches. They wont moan when the younger ones go up at least a star by the end of the season. As far as individual training goes, unless you genuinely have something specifically you want them to train, then just leave it to your assistand, who ideally would have a decent tactical knowledge but hey-ho we're in the conference.
Good Luck and let me know how you got on with your teams!
