So just got the game and loaded a game up and as I'm not a great manage I thought I'd take the easy route and manage my favourite team.

so I've got 33 million in the bank and a team that's looking like this
4-2-3-1
de gea
rafael vidic jones evra
cleverley fellaini
januzaj Rooney kagawa
van persie

and a 2nd team of
amos
smalling Ferdinand Evans fabio
carrick ?
valencia welbeck nani
Hernandez

this would leave me to sell:
lindergaard
buttner
anderson
young

i mainly need a second ball winning/holding midfielder or preferably one to improve the first team, also should I sign Shaqiri for 24 mil and sell Valencia?

Look at Candreva for a Winger. Starts at Lazio and is available for about 6m at the beginning.
Khedira's available for 15m and is World Class. get rid of Anderson and look to bring in a quality LB. Try for Santon or Coentrao.
As for Young STs, look out for Vietto, Werner, Cerri. Must Buys are Balanta and/or Doria. Sign them and Loan both of them to their respective clubs for a season. Then let go of Ferdinand and bring them both in next season.

Try buying Koke from Athletico, develops very well and will be a solid rotation option for the first season, he should eventually seal a place in the Starting 11. I personally wouldn't splash the cash on Shaqiri just yet, Man Utd seems to need a quality CM right away, whereas you have some good options for your wide men.

Other players to look at might be Pogba (Unsure if he'd want to return to Man Utd + He'll cost quite a bit, but he becomes world class) Diego Reyes from porto develops extremely well, best playing as a DM but he can become a very good BWM.

Go for either Kyriakos Papadopoulous or Victor Wanyama. Those 2, along with Fellaini are simply the best BWM ingame. No-one else even comes close. Lucas Romero is an option for the future.

BTW, Valencia is immense ingame. Don't sell him, he's class. Use Nani for a while after he gets back from injury, you can sell him for around 45M pounds in the second season. Just rotate Zaha along with Valencia ingame, and yes, Zaha is simply brilliant. If anything, you'd be better off hunting more towards the left wing - try looking at Draxler or Shaarawy or the numerous other options, once you get rid of Nani.

Try getting Cerri and Pugliese. Both for the future, both dirt cheap, both exceptional players. Cerri can probably look towards replacing van Persie after a season or two. Also, maybe Timo Werner, and retrain him on wings.

I sold evra, buttner, amos, cleverly, young, macheda,Valencia,Anderson, hernandez and bought koke, kovacic, jese, rabiot and alex sandro. Cost of players out 59.75m cost of players in 85m is a great team now and will be for years to come. Also saved loads on wages and made my board happy investing/playing with youth. At end of 2nd season will sell RVP,Carrick, ferdie, vidic, fletcher and nani and buy marquinhos, max meyer and oliver torres.

Okay gunna lay off wide men till I've sorted cm/cdm but in offers for papadopolous and Reyes would also allow me to sell a cb to raise funds going to send some scouts out in a sec once I've got my back room staff all sorted (already getting ready for regen time)
ill give Valencia some time and I suppose Shaqiri would be too similar to nani cheers

Shaqiri is great player on fm14 if can get for right price I have signed him for 17m before. for CM I recommend kovacic!

may I ask Should I also sell lindergaard and why???

Why oh why do you have Cleverley infront of Carrick!!!!! sell Cleverley he is ****** useless!! bring in Will Hughes for BWM M.Diame ?3.5m and dont sell Valencia hes amazing.

Ginter is a quality CB replacement for Vidic, but to be honest I'd be playing Evans ahead of Vida. If you're looking at more of a 'Carrick' role than a 'Keane' role, there's none better than Marco Verratti at defensive midfield.

And the person who said to retrain Timo Werner as a winger, shame on you. He's currently the best young striker on my save at the moment, worth over 40m. 185 games for me in all competitions, 151 goals.

SELL VALENCIA?
No! Antonio Valencia
in game is nothing like Valencia in real life. In the game, he is very consistent, he scores goals, he's a great team player; and he has 3-4 years left in him (at top level if no extreme injuries would happen).

BUY SHAQIRI?
Yes. Buy him to replace Nani. Nani is very prone to injuries, and his mental stats are almost as bad as W. Zaha's. Unfortunately you can't sell him in the first transfer window because of his injury, but he's the one you should be replacing in the long run. So Shaqiri should be bought as a replacement for Young and Nani. You should buy him straight away, wait another season; and his price tag has most likely been doubled (or even tripled).

NEW HOLDING/BALLWINNING MIDFIELDER?
Buy Lucas Romero. Pick him up straight away, otherwise Ajax or some other European club will pick him up before you do, and his price tag will be 10 times higher than what you can get him for while he's still in Argentina. Lucas Romero becomes a beast. He's like a poor man's Yaya Toure. He can play first team football instantly, but I'd still keep Fellaini in front of him during the first season.

CARRICK > CLEVERLEY
And btw, Carrick should always start before Cleverley. Carrick is still a very good player, as long as you don't assign him to a role in the midfield that requires pace. His mental stats are good, so is his technical; but as you can see his physical stats reflects his age. Cleverley is good as back up, and will never be anything better than that. Also a very injury prone player.

VERRATTI?
I see some people are mentioning the young Italian midfielder, but have you guys actually played as Manchester United in patch 14.3? Even if PSG accepts your bid on him, he won't negotiate with you.

Bonus advice!!!:
Sell Nemanja Vidic and buy Eder Balanta (or Mangala). Otherwise you are stuck with a centre back that is injury prone, and will leave you by the end of the season for free. While Balanta and/or Mangala are both two young defenders you'll get for a low price tag.

While I agree with most of what you posted, the one thing I disagree with is Vidic. Don't sell him, not in the first season. Doesn't matter if he leaves for a free. His performances in the first season will be more than enough to justify. I play 2 different 4-2-3-1, and with Vidic as captain, my United team till now has leaked only 5 goals in 27 matches, and I haven't lost once, nor has he gotten injured. He's been simply outstanding in 14.3, so keep him. I'd get Doria in the first season, though, and Balanta/Mangala/Umtiti later.

Man United released Vidic end of 1st seaon on my Reading save i snapped him up as i just got promoted and he was class for 2 seasons but if you want a CB i signed Ezequiel Munoz View attachment 395982 hes been 1 of best CB's in league for a few years. If you want a new DLP Sergi Roberto is top class or look at Roberto Pereyra or Morgan Schneiderlin if you want wingers Erik Lamela is a must hes at City on my save and hes probs the best player in world he avaerages about 15 goals and 20 assists a season.

I bought Shaqiri, now in 3rd season he's banging them in for fun. If I need goals, Shaqiri plays. As a CM with a bit of creativity, Thiago is quality.

I agree with most of your points. Valencia is really good in the game. Although I feel the same about young too not to go by his star ratings. Shaqiri is not really required as Zaha/ Januzaj can perform in that position. I disagree with selling of Vidic. His performances have been really good for me. Balanta would be the best long-term replacement for Vidic. So Jones and Balanta should start playing the occasional games together in the absence of Vidic or in cup games.

Verrati on 14.3.1

Yes I got Verrati to United on 14.3.1. Here is how I do (and how all you guys should do when a Club want to sell but the player doesnt want to join): I offer him on loan, with future free of 14.5mil. PSG is happy to let that happen in my every saves. I got Verrati in my squad, however just for trying. I release him to PSG before the season starts, because I don't need him (I often go for Lucas Romero and Andrea Poli, those CMs can defend for you)

That's what about Verrati. Another thing is that on my United saves I always can buy Pastore at 14.5mil right before the first season. Always a top performer, great combo with Mata and Januzaj on my flat 4-5-1

And sorry I don't agree with you on Nani. He is a great player in my save, best bench player and scored 5 decisive goals for me during first season (he scored 9 but 5 of them decided the matches). I keep both nani and Valencia, but prefer Nani, due to the fact that he is skillful with both legs

For Nani and any player with habit of wasting long shots, all you have to do is add "Work ball into box" and things will be fine.

Thanks for the tips about Vidic, really helpful though ;)

Don't sell Vidic though. Just keep him and let him go on free. Selling him will get you a few more bucks, but cost the morale of the whole team
