hey guys , just started with newcastle , any players and tactics welcome, i need some helppppp ive bought carlton cole whos a beast aswell as jonas, any others please let me know.

Try Julian Faubert (or however it is spelt) 140k on loan for the season from West Ham
also try using haris vuckic, he has a -9 potential ability which means he has a potential of between 160 - 175

get Romelu Lukaku in on loan for around 140k and insert a purchase clause of £6million, Rafael is also a good right back you can get on loan, i also reccomend selling/loaning perch out because hes usless!

Hey man my tactic would be perfect for you, when your up against the big teams and your trying to grind out a result.

This is the tactic i used with newcastle beat liverpool 3-0, 0-0 against chelsea away , beat man utd 2-0 etc, beat aston villa 1-0, tottenham 1-0.

Lukaku is a must to sign, or even do what the chap said before do a loan to buy, he would be amazing in that tactic aswell.

Also go for Anthony Annan, get him for about 2.8-3.1mil CDM.


I would get rid of shola ameobi aswell, you can get 3mil off him from wigan, sell him while you can now, put that money towards annan.

I would keep perch until at least january so that danny simpson is back by then.

Put tamas kadar haris vuckic and nile ranger in your first team squad and put them in reserves or subs.


Keep a look out for any free transfers, also keep checking transfer market, and do transfer listed and asking price as 0 , you can find some gems here which you will need to pay no transfer fee for, i managed to get a cm Paolo Sammarco who is half deceant in your first season with newcastle.

You shouldent do too much selling in your first 6 months as you are loaded with injuries, so you will have a big squad probably, then when it comes to january you can get rid of all the dead wood.

But deffo sell ameobi 3mil, bring in anthony annan, bring in lukaku loan to buy , and thats about it really, and any free agents or free transfers you can get like that paolo sammarco.

Actual PA’s which can be generated by the negative numbers:

• -10 = 170-200
• -9 = 150-180
• -8 = 130-160
• -7 = 110-140
• -6 = 90-120
• -5 = 70-100
• -4 = 50-80
• -3 = 30-60
• -2 = 10-40
• -1 = 0-30

basically -9 means that the player has a potential ability which is randomly generated between 160 and 175 (I believe)

I and many other people consider it cheating, but if you really want to know, you can either use the official editor to look it up or use something like FMRTE or Genie scout whenever that is released for FM11.

I don't think it would even be necessary if coach reports were at least the tiiiniest bit accurate

Get yourself some half deceant coaches that have high potential ability stat at least 18 imo.

Then assign them to scout world and set player age from 15-21, and do that with all your scots tbh apart from the one with next opposition.

FM 2011: Newcastle- Season 1

I'm currently in 1st place: 16-6-0, 41 goals, 12 against - 54 points

Got rid of: Ameobi, Jonas, and Barton (have to pay all of their salaries through the end of the contract; time will tell if this was a bad move or not)

Free Transfer: Abubakari Yakubu, Bernard Mendy, Enzo Maresca

Obtained via loan: Lukaku (have to put in for a future bid of 9 Mil- won't be able to sign after all of these moves, but will help you this season at least)

Purchased Sergio Araujo for cheap (this guy is a steal). After all of these deals go through, I tried to sign Anthony Annan for his transfer value. When it gets rejected, ask the board to step in. Tell them you thought they shared the same vision...or something like that. They will then put 5.5 million for him- this guy is a beast and a must when you run your 4-5-1 to contend with the bigger clubs for draws and narrow wins.

Look up PK's 4-5-1 via google. I use that tactic and vary it depending on who I'm playing and who is healthy. I use a 4-4-2 Asymmetrical when I'm playing weaker teams, and a 4-3-3 or 4-5-1 with five across when I'm playing a team of equal strength who plays a 4-5-1 against me.

Make sure you train in these tactics via match preparation from day one- I selected the "team blend" option and set the training to high.

Also, make sure to bring up Vuckic and Ranger to the senior squad and get them some PT. With all of my injuries, I didn't have much trouble rotating all of guys...albeit, I'm only 22 games in. I'm sure I'll hear some grumbling about playing time soon.


I also signed a few coaches: Houston, Keown, and Renshaw.
Re-signed: Taylor, Lua-lua, and Donaldson.

Will have to see how the rest of the season turns out...

Oh, and once you start rolling, ask the board to invest in better training grounds for your senior and youth squads. The board shouldn't have a problem with it.
