FM 2013 android. how do i pick a squad in international management?

Im currently managing england and man united and everytime i get an email saying i have to pick my squad for a upcoming international match it doesnt allow me to pick players, it just says confirm.
when i click confirm i then get an email/alert saying the 22 man squad has been picked and the surpise exlusion of such and such.

how do i pick my own squad? im wanting to pick young players for england. please help

Go into a player's profile then click "remove from squad" or something similar then find a new player in the player search and click "promote".
