I was wondering, have any gems aka wonderkids from the FM game actually become great players in real life? Most players that become stars don't seem to reach that level in real life. From CM 00/01 I remember Cherno Samba, who was a young god for weaker teams become a leading striker, but I don't think he amounted to anything.
Same goes with Vagner Love in this game or maybe even Micah Richards. In CM he is world class but I haven't heard anything about him in real life.

But maybe there are some better examples. CM actually is used in real life by managers to scout for small gems (and then see them in action).

The infamous Julius Aghahowa remember him in the old CMs. Think Wigan was highest he ever made it. But Ronaldinho with Gremio also was another that turned out class.

Aghahowa, used to always try and sign him. He was a beast, but was never heard of again. Ronaldinho did turn out class (for a while), bought him with Boro once while he was still at PSG, but he probably was 1 season as good as he was in that game.

Tevez and Mascherano come to mind, they were gods in previous fm's along with Higuian, Gago, Banega, Pato and Aguero. They have all been prospects in previous games and have now made the big time. I do think there are alot of players who are amazing in game but not so much outside of it such as Srna and Love. I think in fm 2010 alot of the young Swedes will be hot prospects like Elm, Berg etc. I've been playing fm for a while they do tend to get most of the prospects right CA and PA wise although I've heard that Balotelli irl is regarded as a real brat and doesn't have the mind set to be a great player despite his technical prowess.

Banega, Breno, Sakho all good on previous FM's
Players like Asenjo, Kerrison, Santon, Balotelli have all gone to good clubs/getting starting places in current club

On CM 08 Ossama Madah was amazing but now I cant find him on Fm

Tevez and Mascherano made it. uhm Ibrahimovic was an unknown in CM 05 and he did alright didn't he;) I have seen Vagner Love play for the national team, nothing like the beast he is on this game but worth a mention. Sumtimes they get switched really coz in FM 06 Aguero with indepediente and Walcott with Southhampton were kinda uselessoO)

Bruno is a Baynern aswell. Banaega at Valancia. Sakho is very gd in real life aswell. Santon has been good all last season.

Alexis sanchez, and aguero are great

earliest example i've got is Richard Wellens off CM3 - absolute legend! lol
i remember finding Robben at Gronigen on CM 01/02... he turned out alright, as well as others mentioned- like Tevez, etc in other editions of the game
also younger versions of Wesley Sneijder and Rafael Van Der Vaart

Robinho's another example, you could get him for about 10 million when he was at Santos on fm 05 and was a very good prospect, he's gone off the boil a bit now but has had some great moments especially when he was at Madrid.

Vagner Love is actually playing well fos CSKA - give him some time to show up.

Anybidy remember that 15 year old Nicolas Millan? in FM 07 he was 15 and one my games he was always one of the worlds best strikers. His finishing usually improved to 20 by the time he was 18. In FM 09 he isn't anywhere near that level and is still running around for Colo Colo in real life. Adebayor and Berbatov grew into awesome forwards in FM 06 when they were playing for Monaco and Leverkusen respectively and today they are both playing in good old Manchester:D

one name springs to mind - Papastathopoulus(spelling) he had a 100 marking 100 tackling and 100 heading on CM 08, cost just £900k from AEK Athens, now he's at Genoa, umbelievable player just 19 years of age so he gets better. Also Aiden McGeady on CM 08, you could buy him for 12mil sell him for like 40mil 2 years later, class

Keirrison is at Barcelona, so he's gone up in the world.

Marquinhos will have moved soon, I am sure of it. I imagine probably the La Liga too.

1 that i remember from a previous game was an icelandic striker, andriy sigporsson. he used to score like 50 goals a season for any teams but hes unknown i think in real life. i think this is something that the new games lack, its hard to find real unusual players who turn out amazing.
