FM on iMac

Received an iMac for Christmas along with FM. When I was playing the game on a Windows PC I could press the button with the Microsoft icon on it, near the bottom left of the keyboard (not quite sure of its official title), and return to my desktop. In addition, I could also use Shift+Tab to access the Steam overlay (I think that's what you call it) in order to chat with friends and to also check the time of day.

Since I've started playing FM on the iMac, I have not been able to do these things, unfortunately :S

Any ideas/tips?

You should still be able to press SHIFT+TAB to view the Steam overlay. It may be disabled in your Steam preferences.

You can press cmd + TAB to exit full screen mode as well so that you can do other things.
