Since i am having lot of problems with XP, i am thinking to jump into Linux arena(ubuntu)... I want to know if i would be able to run FM 11 on ubuntu with any trick(Windows copy) or i will have to run in XP only... I have not bought my copy yet but if it is possible to run on ubuntu i will buy it...

THANKS!

@ Mods-> I have made this thread because people are less responsive in the help thread. sorry if i broke any rules!!

I wouldn't go onto Linux, I would just upgrade to 7 if I were you :)

As far as I know, FM2011 does not support Linux therefore you will encounter problems.

Yeh what Nick said, although I'm sure Linux is free whereas 7 is not :S. Correct me if the first part is wrong.

I cannot go into windows 7 because i have just 1 GB ram... that's why i am asking this.

As far as I know people used to play FM10 through Wine. Not heard of anyone playing FM11 though.

Certain Linux operating systems are free whereas fully supported versions are not.

Download THIS before you make that call mate, you could probably run the 32 bit version like myself.

i know there are only windows and mac versions but i just wanted to know any ways to do some changes and make fm playable for linux. i would prefer fm 11 windows version so that i can jump into it anytime i want. thanks!!

I would not advise running Windows7 with 1GB of memory. You will have a sluggish & slow experience, especially when running FM2011.

It's possible but not recommended.

To be honest with 1GB of memory, XP is your best bet.

What problems are you currently having with XP?

fm 10 is ok .
Well, I finally got working perfectly. It works even better than in Windows. Since I dont got a video card, the matchs in Windows dont work smoothly but in Arch it does. It is amazing, it works much better and a lot faster than in Windows. I even got it working with kits, faces, logos and all perfectly in Arch
Well, I will explain how I did to got it working.
First, you got to install Wine, which is very simple. Then, you got to install winetricks, because Football Manager needs d3dx9.dll (Directx 9) in order to work, so after installing winetricks you do the following in the command "sh winetricks d3dx9.dll" and wait until it is installed. After that, install Football Manager and then install Patch 10.3.
If you want to install faces, kits and all that stuff you got Sports Interactive folder in your home folder.
see this:http://www.fm-base.co.uk/forum/f71/ubuntu-linux-t27692.html

but fm 11 ? I dont know.

Personally,I am trying……

I made it worked, but not very successful, and not stable.
