FM start up error!

When i try to start up my fm2012, it does not start up properly and the program closes and goes straight back to my desktop. Then a notification pops up on my taskbar and says as follows 'Optimal Resolution Notification: This is not the optimal screen resolution for the primary display device. The optimal resolution is 1280 x 800' why is my fm2012 not starting up? any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

The game shouldn't close because you're running at a different screen res from the optimum... does it open if you change your screen res? As Jak said updating your graphics drivers might help but they dont exactly get updated every week so you probably have the latest. What size monitor/ laptop screen do you have?
