Why is Gerrard's stamina a 10? He's rarely ever subbed out of matches at LFC, and this attribute makes him almost impossible to start and finish a match in the midfield. Without editing him, I think this marks the end of an era (as it simultaneously happens in real life). But whatever Gerrard's lost over the years, I don't think stamina is it. Among other reasons, this makes LFC a tough team to manage this year in FM15.

I agree. Stamina should be higher. And pretty much every other attribute should be lower.

His stamina is worse, though I agree it probably shouldn't be a 10. Kinda amazed, considering how generously rated every other Liverpool player is.

Well to be honest most of last season he sat back between the defenders and dictated play. You don't need to have massive amounts of stamina for that. He very rarely gets forward anymore.

His stamina is probably lower because hes been playing the Half back/Regista role if he was is old Box to Box or Advanced playmaker role his stamina would be higher.

Avid 'pool fan here. He doesn't have the legs and we all saw it at the world cup: He couldn't keep up the the game when played in the centre of Midfield.

Rodgers played him in a reserved role with very little running last season to allow him to last 90 mins but he can't be a runner or do much tracking accross the pitch. It is the end of an era but it's natural decline, I don't thin SI have been harsh. Maybe Stamina at 13 to be pedantic but anything higher is too generous in my books

Agree with this. I personally think he's effective higher up the pitch but he'd only be able to go for 45 minutes at that rate.

I let him run out his contract and picked him up as coach (not very good staff attributes, mainly for loyalty). Took £140k p/w off my wage budget and I didn't really need him anyway. Importance to squad cohesion and leadership doesn't translate very well to FM.

Needs to play in the hole between the midfield and the defence

I think it may need a bit of improving: 11 or 12 would be fair, anything above is OTT TBF (Over the top to be fair)

I played him practically a whole season as a Roaming Playmaker. Subbed him off occasionally when the matches were won but if you keep his training light then you play him for the 90 mins and he should recover for the next match.

Well, that's the approach SI always uses to slowly transition aging players out of the game. The physical attributes get lower and lower to the point of absurd, and mental attributes keep improving.

I guess its one idea to try and replicate the experience of having a player who's nearing retirement on your team. The downside is, eventuallly the players stop performing like their real-life versions and become artificially created constructs that are nothing like the real thing. This is especially apparent if the player transitions to a completely new position IRL, like Gerard did in last few years.

In real life Gerrard looks dead on the pitch now, Liverpool just wont sub him because its Steven Gerrard
