Just wondering if anyone has grown fond/attached to any of their players (regens or non-regens) and if so for what reasons? For me it has to be my 3 regens I picked up on free transfers in my 4th season.

First one is my goalie who must be pretty good if Barcelona keep enquiring about him. Secondly is my captain who is my only world class player. Finally is my striker converted to an inside forward who regardly gets assists for my team and numerous goals.

Because they all have been consistent performers for me right up through the leagues as well as loyal, I just don't see myself replacing them until they retire even though I can no doubt get better. I am hoping they have good coaching stats so that I can keep them on at the club after they retire.

I plan to keep Christian Eriksen and Theo Jansen throughout their entire careers in my Ajax save, Eriksen because he's amazing and Theo because he led my Ajax side to the 12/13 CL Trophy. Even though I have regens far better.

Jamil Adam Signed him in league 2 for Crawley 5 seasons later he is the clubs all time top scorer by about 100 goals

While I get attached to my stars sometimes, the first unrealistic contract they ask for and the admiration is over and they are out the door. However, I do gain loyalty to those low star guys who just always seem to be rock solid. Those 2 star guys who never get less than a 7.00 when they play or that youth player that just gets it right away and contributes. I am very influenced by how greedy players get. If you play by my rules and keep your salary demands reasonable, you are my best friend.

My top three:

Ismael Fofana - An absolute machine. Sign him in the Blue Square south and just watch him bang in goals, create goals and consistently hit at least a 7 rating. He doesn't get greedy either.

Andrew Milne - The same as above. Just plays his socks off and bags loads of goals.

Maximillian Dittgen - Signed him for Cottbus last year as a backup and he played so well off the bench that I gave him a run in the first team. Started off low value two star player and finished the season a four star player with a value of 1.4m and the highest goal tally in Europe. Phenomenal.

Emotion is for the weak. If I receive an acceptable offer for any of my players I'll sell.

Still depends what you view as an acceptable offer. I doubt many would reject outrageous offers for players they may feel "attached" to.

If I view my player as irreplaceable then I will not sell them no matter what the offer is. If their too important to the team then why sell them. If it was a ridiculous offer for someone I could replace with someone who is much better quality then maybe I would take the offer into consideration. :)
