Football manager 2011, xml parsing error - tried many things before

Bought FM on steam and downloaded... To my pleasure now i can't save games.. i really need help i have searched many a website ... Here is my issue:

i load the "football manager 2011" game itself, via shortcut or start ---> programs etc.as it is loading, a box appears:

"XML PARSING ERROR --- not well formed (invalid token) at line 1 of last_saved_game.xml"

I reitterate i have tried many soultions, suggested for previous games, but they dont work

Mine has the same problem but a different parsing error, to be honest i think its getting a bit tedious now and the producers of the game should sort the problem out once and for all. This happened to me on FM 2010 aswell.
Im just in the middle of reintalling the game now and trying to download the xml parsing updates of windows of which you can type into google.
