Thought this might come in handy for anyone who cant decide whether to buy FM 14.
So i bought FM14 on offer for ?20 which i thought was pretty good. I didnt buy FM13 i was using 12 still (lol) so it was a big jump for me to 14 with lots of changes.
I still dont understand the match prep/training and it seems overly complicated, although i think iv begun to get the hang of it.
The big obvious change is the tactics, which at first i hated. I found them awkward and id never used shouts at all in the previous games, but after reading on the internet and finding out that the shouts are actually the same as the sliders (invisible sliders) you just have to understand what each one is compared to the old slider system, well this made me able to use the same tactic ive used since fm 2008, success! (SI could do with making this clearer).
As for the rest of the game, well its Football Manager, the game seems to run faster than FM12 for me, and iv no crashes as of yet (touch wood). Its the same successful formula with some nice additions which im enjoying. Transfers seem a little more realistic so far which is great.
I must admit i find the interface a little awkward, the drop down menu when you press continue i dont feel is nescessary and i wish i had the option to remove it. Also the dark skin wasnt included with the game as with previous years, you have to download it from the "steam workshop" which i thought was pointless and it should just be there ready to use (it makes a big difference to me!)
My verdict:
Tactics need improvement in future versions, but a good start to a new system.
Game engine is much better (compared to FM12, i can actually cross the ball!) and although defending took me some tweaking i find this is the same with each years FM version.
Score: 8.5/10
