Sports Interactive, the creators of the Football Manager series, are running their own Football Manager Awards for the 2011/12 season.



The boots have been hung up, the trophies engraved and the 'all the squad together, jumping up and down' dances are already fading into memory... which means it's time for the return of the Football Manager Awards! To celebrate every aspect of the greatest job in the world, fans can now decide just who were the top gaffers of the 2011/12 season in a variety of categories.

We don't just want to know who you think was the best manager of the past season, we also want to know who provided the best touchline entertainment, who won the verbal battles and even who dressed the best.

These are the only awards where Sean O'Driscoll and Jurgen Klopp rub shoulders, Neil Warnock and Paulo Di Canio attempt to out-shout one another and Ole Gunnar Solskjær is legitimately young (and not just baby-faced).

Gary Smith you mean for Stevenage manager :) Personally though I dont think he has been all that great he just stepped into Westleys shoes halfway through the season and has used the same tactics etc but each to their own :)

  • By Mutual Consent - Antoine Kombouaré (this is the most outrageous thing i've ever seen in football, PSG just wanted to have a "known" manager like Carlo, and now it backfired, thank god they won't win the title, Kombouaré was doing a great job)

  • Fashion Icon - I'd say Andre Villas Boas, he is not on the list, but that's my vote.
  • Triumph Over Adversity - Roberto Martinez.. I could say Di Matteo, but Martinez actually made Wigan play good football.. And let's be honest, Wigan and good football, are words that rarely match..

  • Young Manager of the Season - Rodgers (he did really well this year and deserves all the credit)
  • Youth Team Manager of the Season - McPhillips (never heard of any of them, however, after the season Blackburn had, this was quite a feat)
  • Most Successful Transfer - Pardew/Moyes
  • Managerial Masterstroke - SAF (definitely)
  • War of the Words - Jose
