Football manager LAN game HELP!

I am wanting to play a LAN game with my mate i have a computer and he has a laptop. We have played other games via LAN and would like a step by step guide on how to set it up on football manager 2010 please!

Also how do i change my football manager from version 10.3 to version 10.0 so its the same as my mates!? please help!

If you want to downgrade to 10.0 you have to reinstall the game. Why doesn't your friend just upgrade to the much improved 10.3 version?

Yeah do you need steam to update or can you update without steam?

Then in terms of getting each other on the LAN, as long as you are running the same version of FM then one person loads a new game of FM making sure that in preferences you tick "enable run as server" in network options then when once its installed, get your friend to go Join Network Game and if you are on the same internet connection, your computer will show up. he clicks in and chooses a team.
