Former Liverpool and Everton defender Gary Ablett passes away

Gary Ablett, the former Liverpool, Everton, Birmingham player and Stockport manager has passed away at the age of 46 last night after losing his battle against non-Hodgkin's lymphoma overnight.

Extremely sad news to hear. Lovely lad, went on to win FA Cups with Liverpool and Everton....not one person had a bad thing to say about him at all.

Indeed. Not a bad thing to say about the lad. We're losing too many at ridiculous ages it seems :S

I won't pretend to know much about him, but I heard he played played for Liverpool and Everton and was respected by both sets of fans which says a lot about the guy.
