Former portuguese referee Jacinto Paixão, who had been investigated a few years back for alleged corruption, came forward and admitted to being bribed and said that it was a common practice back then (Between 2002 and 2004, at least) by Porto. The club would pay for 'personal trips' and high-standard prostitutes to match officials which would then proceed to 'pay them back' in the pitch. An example of this was a match against Academica which Porto won 4-1 after trailing 0-1 at half time, with 3 goals in the last thirteen minutes, 2 of them being penalties.

He released a video confession recorded by himself in 2004 'in case something happened to him or his family' in which he admits the bribes and gives a few names.

The title is misleading and some of the comments are too. Mourinho is not directly implicated, although some of the Porto hierarchy are. Don't know about the degree of truth in this, though.

Well, Benfica's president also picked referees for certain matches, so, both Benfica and Porto should be relegated. Low-class clubs...
Sporting is the only with with a trace of class in Portugal.

Class beyond the top 3? Noway, get outta here :)

Old news, Pinto da Costa is a modern Capo di Tutti Capi, and is shaping his successor in Braga's president.
On the other hand, I wish my President did half as PdC does for his team.

Yeah, referees get bribed like all the team (well, not bribed, treated nicely), big deal. Just because Porto are actually known to have given bribes doesn't mean they are the only team. (Howard Webb *cough* *cough*) ;)!

Lol so that makes it ok? Porto is a great team everybody knows it, so I hate saying it. Not bias, I just hate clichés. Now, what people don't seem to realize is that (successful) corruption brings in money and reputation... That translates to better players/managers joining the club. Which translates to winning more. As the time passes, you have such a great team you realize you don't need to be corrupt no more, you'll just keep on winning. That's the core of the subject.

We know every team cheats (well, some more than another), there's also some Benfica rumors. The thing is, PdC got caught - the phone calls were in youtube ffs - and what happened then? He got punished as he deserved, went behind ba... No, wait, that would be in an ideal world, dismiss that, he just kept on running the club. Biggest mobster ever.

Porto's fans (super dragões) even have a supporting board with this image. It's well known, and they laugh about it. (this is Pinto da Costa. just in case)
