Free & Loan players for League 1 teams in winter update

I'm about to start a new league 1 save. not decided which team to manage yet. But whilst am deciding. What decent players can I get for free or on loan with a league 1 team.

Debating managing Walsall, Wigan, Coventry, Barnsley, Colchester or Southend.

Debating managing Walsall, Wigan, Coventry, Barnsley, Colchester or Southend.

I played Fleetwood, and got Jamie Hansen on loan from Derby County. He did a pretty decent job as a CM. I also took Jordan Hugill from Preston on loan in January, because the team was ravaged by injuries. He's been good but gloomy.
