Free transfer for contracts ending in June

Hi,

I am trying to sign some players that has their contracts expired in June. The time I start placing a bid in January and after. However, when I go to sign a player, the club still wants a transfer fee. I offer 0 and it gets rejected. The starting of the contract in my offer is end of contract. Why am I not able to get a free transfer for a contract that should start in 6 months?

You can't offer contracts to players who are based in Britain until a month or so before their contract ends. Off you are able to offer a player a contract then the "approach to sign" button becomes available under the contracts tab. Hope I helped
