Found an interesting article on BBC.Sport.UK and I think the French are happy that this footballing debacle has finally ended.

from what I've been told by my french mates they wanted the team to come home before the tournament even started. The general public was pretty disgusted with how they got in and the run in was pretty bad and the apathy was plain to see. I would not be surprised to see Blanc walk away from this mess unless massive changes are made to FFF

From a French fan.
It was a total shame. I've worn the "maillot" since I was 7 years old and have always been behind the team, no matter what.
But this no matter what has been seriously shaken these past weeks.
France has been an embarassment to its people, and to the world of football, and we must admit it and cope with the disaster. It's time to rebuild and it's easy for Blanc, there is only one way to go. ;-)
