Friendly with U21s during international break. random regens

I set up a friendly during the international break with my U21s with Liverpool FC and because i didnt have a squad, the game filled my squad with young regens who were all decent and i could sign them.

Has anyone else come across this?

That's pretty common, actually. If you don't have players, the AI will put generic players in the squad, who're activated when you offer them a contract. Usually, the players are okayish, I haven't seen a top class regen come out like that as of yet.

Ive never played a friendly through the season before so ive never seen this happen. some of the ones mine have generated have been decent. probably potential to be a good premier league player but i didnt get any outstanding ones.
