On Wednesday, when I came home from my exam and schooling. I decided to create a game and play my favourite club, Southampton!!!

In my 3,000,000 transfer budget, I spent 1,350,000 on a whole new set of staff and few players. I brought 2 players, and loaned in 3 players getting rid of Papa Waigo and Michal Antonio. I brought in Croatian goalkeeper Stipe Pletikosa from Spartak Moscow and Richard Hughes on a free from Portsmouth. I loaned in Sam Hutchinson, Craig Cathcart and Dorian Dervite.

Pre-Season
My pre-season went all right, I thought, however it led to a great start to a season. Furthermore, I did let my new assistant take charge for all my pre-season games. I beat Bournemouth 3-0, Eastleigh 2-0 then I lost to Kilmarnock 1-0, beat Cheltenham and Totton 2-0 then in the last pre-season game, I lost to West Brom 1-0, which was unfortunate.

Millwall - League One - 2-0
In my first game in charge and in the league. It was Millwall at home. I won 2-0, Rickie Lambert and Lee Barnard scoring.

Gillingham - League Cup - 4-0
3 days later, in the 1st Round of the League Cup, I was drawn against Gillingham at home. I won 4-0, 2 goals for Rickie Lambert and one each for captain Deano Hammond and Lee Barnard.

Huddersfield - League One - 4-1
Huddersfield was next, my first game away, I was expecting a sneaky 1-0 win but no it was 4-1 victory. Rickie Lambert getting a hat trick and another goal for Deano Hammond. Antony Kay got second bookable offence after 43 minutes and Michael Collins getting the goal for them.

Swindon - League One - 1-0
Another away game, at Swindon. It was very tight game, where Rickie Lambert got injured, but Jason Puncheon manage to sneak a goal. For Saints to win 1-0.

Sunderland - League Cup - 3-2 AET
The next game at St. Mary's preparing for the game during the week in the League Cup, away to Sunderland. Connolly became fit enough to play, but Lee Barnard got vital goals, in order to win 2-0. At the Stadium of Light, facing the prospect of losing. After 9 minutes in to the game Saints went 1-0 down after Darren Bent scored off the post. Later in the half, Lee Barnard equalised. At Half Time, it was 1-1, yet I was still pleased. Took another 32 minutes for another goal, it was Kenwyne Jones, the former Saint scoring. In the final minutes of the game, Saints equalised with former Palace centre back, José Fonte scoring a free kick from 35 yards out. To making it 2-2, forcing the game to go into extra time. 5 minutes later, Darren Bent scored but it was ruled out because of an offside. 5 minutes after that, Saints scored through attacking midfielder Jason Puncheon. Saints went on to win 3-2 going through to play Bradford City in the Third Round of the League Cup.

Stockport - League One - 3-1
The last game of the month of August, Stockport County was team to face Southampton's wrath, and Saints won 3-1, courtesy of Lee Barnard, David Connolly and Lloyd James and a Peter Thompson scored a consolation goal for Stockport. I ended up getting the Manager of the Month, winning all 5 league games.

Brighton - The Johnstone's Paint Trophy - 2-1
Next game was rivals Brighton in The Johnstone's Paint Trophy South First Round, winning 2-1. Captain Deano Hammond scoring with a header. Brighton pounced back in the middle of the second half with Glenn Murray equalising and with 4 minutes left Adam Lallana sealed the win.

Charlton - League One - 6-2
In the next game, after missing a game due to International Duties. It was promotion chasing rivals Charlton at The Valley. Winning by a 4 goal margin, 6-2. Took 15 minutes to see the first goal, Lee Barnard scoring, then a further 15 minute wait, when Deano Hammond scoring the second. Jonjo Shelvey scoring a goal making 2-1 then very late into the first half, David Connolly scored making the score 3-1. Straight after Half Time there was a fleet of goals, Deano Hammond scoring again. Adam Lallana scoring to make it 5-1, veteran midfielder, Edgar Davids scored for Charlton then to polish the game off José Fonte completing the rout.

Colchester - League One - 1-0
Also Rickie Lambert who was back from injury came on for the last 10 minutes of the game. The next game was 2nd placed Colchester, who only dropped points to Leeds with a 1-1 draw. Facing them at St. Mary's. Rickie Lambert with a starting place again. Saints started brightly and after 27 minutes they got their reward with Lee Barnard scoring. The game continued with no more goals. Saints ended with all 3 points, however it was a bad match. Now after those 3 points, I moved upwards to 8th place and yet I was 2 points off the play off's. So far I scored 26 goals and only conceded 7 goals in all competitions.

Yeovil - League One- 3-0
Next up was Yeovil. With Yeovil on a poor run, with one win since the start of the season, against Stockport. Yeovil hoping to get at least a point, which may lead them out of relegation. It was a very bad start for Yeovil going 2-0 down with 16 minutes goal, Ryan Mason scoring an own goal and David Connolly with a solo effort. Just before half time, it was 3-0 when Dorian Dervite scored who almost scored the first goal. After half time when Saints had complete control, they failed to capitalize. And the game ended 3-0, with Saints now already in the play off's.

Bradford - League One - 2-0
Next was Bradford in the League Cup. It was flying start by the League One side, going 1-0 up after 2 minutes, Deano Hammond scoring again. Not long before it became 2-0, when Jason Puncheon powerfully placed into the goal. Saints retaining the possession then on made sure the game was safe. The final score was 2-0 and now in the 4th Round of the League Cup with the Premiership and the Championship team. I learnt from the draw, I had to face high flying Reading, away.

Carlisle - League One - 2-1
I had a near fit side to play against Carlisle with only Craig Cathcart out injured and with players on superb form. I surely got to beat Carlisle. Carlisle started well, but Saints took the lead with Lee Barnard finishing some good play on the left. It was Half Time, it was still 1-0. It looked like the game was final, but it wasn't on edge of full time, a corner high landed to the feet on Offiong who put it away. There was even more drama!!!! Saints quickly in the 93rd minute of game, took the lead! Quick play between, Deano Hammond, Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana, ended with Lallana slotting home, to make it 2-1 to the visitors. And Saints kept their unbeaten run of 9 games in the league, 12 games unbeaten in all competition. And yet 9 wins in 9. :D

Bristol Rovers - League One - 4-0
Rovers were next, Rickie Lambert's former club. In the first minute of the game, David Connolly was stretched off with an injury, so Rickie Lambert had to come on. Half an hour, and it was 1-0 Saints, Adam Lallana coolly slotting home. Afterwards, Lee Barnard scored, one on one with keeper and slotted it past the keeper, 2-0. After half time, 2 thunderous goals from Rickie Lambert sealed the game off against his former club with minutes to spare Joe Mills got himself sent off with a second bookable offence. Saints climbed up the table to 2nd, 3 points behind Colchester. And yet again, I got Manager of the Month award for September, David Connolly coming Second in Player of the Month and Loanee Dorian Dervite got Young Player of the Month.

Gillingham - League One - 6-1
It started badly for Saints, going 1-0 down, a long ball up to Simeon Jackson who shrugged off Dorian Dervite and put into the Saints net. Not long before Dorian Dervite headed the ball into the Gillingham net from Simon Gillett corner. Then Rickie Lambert put Saints in front, a lovely chipped ball by Morgan Schneiderlin and Rickie Lambert drove it past the keeper and into the bottom corner. Great play helped score Saints third goal of the afternoon, Adam Lallana heading the ball to Simon Gillett who scores his first goal for the club and in the league. A lovely ball from Simon Gillett allowed Rickie Lambert to double his tally with a thunderous shot which bounced off the bar and post and into the net. Rickie Lambert achieved his Hat Trick, with a free kick which beat Julian the Gillingham keeper at his near post. And then Lee Barnard completed the rout, when Rickie Lambert release Lee Barnard who slotted home to confirm a 6-1 victory.

Aldershot - The Johnstone's Paint Trophy - 3-0
Saints with a makeshift team preparing again, an Aldershot side who only 1 won in their last 4 games. It took quarter of an hour to Saints get into the lead, Jason Puncheon with a curling shot from 14 yards out to put the home side in front. And then 8 minutes on Adam Lallana, doubled that lead with a shot from 20 yards out which flew to the bottom corner. 10 minutes from time, Adam Lallana confirm that Saints were in the next round, putting away a cross from Jason Puncheon.

Oldham- League One - 2-0
It took half an hour for a goal. Lee Barnard placing the ball from the edge of box, after a lovely ball from Rickie Lambert. You'd had to wait another half an hour for a goal, Adam Lallana scoring with a great solo run from the halfway line. And yet the unbeaten run still continued!

Southend - League One - 1-1
Southend were nearest team to break Saints unbeaten run. Adam Lallana scoring in the first minutes after a long ball from defensive midfielder, Richard Hughes, which Adam Lallana calmly put home. Then 40 minutes later, Angelo Balanta scored, from out swinging corner from the left. Southend continued to pressure Saints, but didn't manage to score nor did Saints when they broke. Now Saints run of wins have now ended but their unbeaten was still there.

Milton Keynes Dons - League One - 2-0
Milton Keynes were no threat to the run as Saints ran out as 2-0 winners. José Fonte with a wonder goal, curling the ball from 35 yards out and in the to the bottom right hand corner of the net. That should be goal of the month! Jason Puncheon confirmed the win, 2 minutes from time, after good play by him, Rickie Lambert and Morgan Schneiderlin, which Jason Puncheon rounded the keeper and slotted home into the empty net.

Reading - League Cup - 2-1
It was high flying Reading next to face Saints, in the 4th round tie. And Saints started well, it took 8 minutes for the goal. David Connolly the goal scorer. Poor defending from Reading and Armstrong, as Connolly nicked the ball from the feet of Armstrong beat the defence and slotted past the helpless Reading keeper. Dorian Dervite double the lead, the defender scores the way he does. Corner by Simon Gillett and he headed home. One minute from the full 90, Jobi McAnuff scored, which scared Saints who had a nervous injury time to get past. Full Time, Saints face Manchester United at St. Mary's next!

Leyton Orient - League One - 1-0
Coming off a win against Reading, reeled up the Saints hope for a win against lowly Leyton Orient. A hard fought game, with no goal in it until a penalty was given away with minutes spare of the game. Rickie Lambert taking the responsibility who put it away and Saints took spoils with them.

Any tips and hints will be accepted with a big cheesy grin! :D

However, after beating Leyton Orient I won Manager of the Month again.

NOVEMBER

Exeter - FA Cup - 2-1
The game between Exeter and Southampton was fairly even. It took 70 minutes for the first goal. Adam Lallana the provider, David Connolly the goal scorer. Exeter got back, after winning a penalty when José Fonte fouled Adam Stansfield. Liam Sercombe took the responsibility and placed it home. The game wasn't over, captain Deano Hammond scoring a heading after a lovely cross from the left by Jason Puncheon.

Colchester - The Johnstone's Paint Trophy - 1-0
Colchester game was also hard fighting game, took 82 minutes for a goal, and guess what...Rickie Lambert scoring again after being out injured. Saints now are in The Johnstone's Paint Trophy South Semi Finals.

Norwich - League One - 5-0
The forever entertaining tie, between these 2 sides, 5-4 a few years ago at St. Mary's and 2-2 also at St. Mary's last year also Saints 2-0 victory at Carrow Road, less than a month ago. But this is in contrast was poor defending and attack by Norwich. Took 26 seconds for the first goal Adam Lallana putting away a through ball from Rickie Lambert. Then Rickie Lambert him self scoring a head just after half hour mark. Then 2 goals from centre back Craig Cathcart. Both which were corners from Rickie Lambert and they were head home. Then Adam Lallana completes the rout with a calm one on one finish.

Hartlepool - League One - 4-0
Adam Lallana scoring again with just a tap after 15 minutes after some beautiful play from the Saints. Jason Puncheon doubles that lead, with a shot that flew to top corner from 21 yards out and then he scored again a cross from Rickie Lambert and Jason Puncheon controlled and shot on half volley, 3-0. Then with few minutes to spare, José Fonte with a free kick from 35 yards out, and went into the top corner.
