Not sure if I've posted this in the correct area as it might come under tactics as I believe it's to do with motivation etc?

I'm in my second season of the game and am currently managing Wolves in the Premiership (Won the CCC in my first season)

This first season in the Premiership has been frustrating to say the least!!

I started pretty sluggishly but after picking up a few wins here and there I managed to haul myself up to 14th in the table by New Year and stayed there for a while. I looked at my run in and thought i'd be pretty much safe from relegation as it didn't look the trickyest

I now find myself on the end of a 7 game defeat streak and have plummeted back down into the relegation places thanks largely to some absolute spankings (6 nil, 5 nil and 5-1) at the hands of Wigan, Middlesbrough and Fulham respectively.

Obviously this is very disappointing, even more so when you take into account that I have played all of the "Sky 4" home and away and only lost once! I even beat Man U 4-3 at Old Trafford and Liverpool 1-0 at Anfield!

I can only assume it's a motivational issue and can't understand why I can't get my players to perform in matches when I'm not heavy underdogs.

Im just hoping I can save my Premiership bacon as I believe I have built a squad with so much potential it would be a shame to lose most of them if I get relegated. I think this may be part of the problem too, too many young promising players in the team and not enough experience - even though the main experienced player I have bought has been a total dud (Mirel Radoi)

Any thoughts guys?

Update:

Talk about taking it to the wire. Last but one game of the season and there is one relegation place still to be filled (Southampton and Mddlesbrough already condemned) adn the only 2 teams who could fill that space would be me or Reading.

Low and behold the last but one game of the season I'm away to Reading, all I need to do is avoid defeat to stay up.

Despite their best efforts to injure my players (I finished the game with 10 men as they forced 4 off with injury) I managed to beat them 3-2 and condemn them back to the fizzy pop league.

So relieved I managed to stay up, onwards and upwards from here :)

J,

Its the AI its pretty good at working out how to beat you. Best employ a few tactics across the season. I'm still learning as well.

I've taken Bradford from the CC2 to the prem using the following.

TTF tactics 442 stan, 442 off & 442 defensive. (download them if you already haven't)

The only thing i would suggest is that when you are squaring up to a close rival try a balanced formation and use the Opp Instructions as follows:

Attack Players (ST or advancing wingers) always tight marking, always closing down, hard tackling and show on to weaker foot.

Sitting Mids (CM's R/LM's and DMC) always closing down, hard tackling and weaker foot.

Also some managers in league will adapt their tactics to counter your standard tactic....so i always try and play a vanilla tactic with balanced passing, balanced width etc....

also pay attention to pitch size and follow the guidance on passing from your scout....direct balls for longer pitches etc....

its not a winning formula....but you'll find you win against more than you lose....

my problem right now is getting points off the big four.......
