Game keeps freezing on start-up

Bought the game today from Asda and installed it through Steam. It's been updated through Steam as well but whenever I go to play it my laptop completely freezes, the game doesn't start at all. I've re-installed the game but the problem is still occurring.

Any ideas on how to fix this problem because I really want to get started on a game!

Do you have anything else open whilst you play FM?

Sometimes is makes the game not respond.
 
If you have further problems, go to World>Preferences> then look at processing fixtures. You may have to change it from fastest to faster which makes the game more responsive.

He cannot run FM11.

Try firstly -

1 - Update all Drivers, DirectX etc.

2 - Restart your PC, and make sure nothing unnecessary is running.

Tried both, didn't work either.

Anymore suggestions guys, gutted that I can't play it.

I've tried a new copy of the game, I've tried alternating between installing it through Steam and not installing through Steam, I've installed the newest Direct X, I've checked my laptop specs etc yet nothing has worked.

What are your laptop specs?
 
Processor - Intel(R) Core(TM) duo CPU P7450 @ 2.13GHz (2 CPU's), ~ 2.1GHz

Memory - 4096 MB RAM

369 GB left on my hard drive

Display Device

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570

Chip type: ATI Display Adapter (0x9553)

DAC Type : Internal DAC (400 MHz)

Current display mode : 1366 x 768 (32 bit)(60Hz)

do you have any custom graphics in your football manger folder ..if so .. delete the one for kits ..
then reload your game
 
my game is doing the exact same thing....deleted the custom kits and that worked a charm
