Game wont open when offline

My FM wont open when i dont have my internet connected sayin ''could not connect to steam network'' even though i have the disk in. Anyone help?

If you installed by steam you have to have the internet connected even with steam.

You'll have to uninstall the game (back-up any saves you want to keep before you do so) and re-install it without Steam. If you want to play the game without connecting to the Tinternet.

If you didn't want to play with the internet connected, you should have installed via uniloc.

No, you don't have to.

You can do this: you load Steam and let it connect once. Then you tell it to disconnect from the net. From then, steam will start disconnected and won't try to connect, until you tell it to, so you will be able to play it without being connected to the net.

P.S. - Playign with steam offline is a must to be able to play multiplayer through hamachi.

I have bought all my previous versions of FM and played them on steam (08, 9, 10 & now 11), so trust me you do NOT need an internet connection.

What I do is.. Have a shortcut on your desktop for the actual game. I open up steam and when it says you have no internet connection, just click, 'start offline mode'. Then you can access your game library and load FM normally, or just use your shortcut on the desktop.

Start Steam up, go on Steam > Go Offline. The only thing it effects is the achievements part of Steam, so you won't be able to get the achievements while you play offline.

I tried clicking ''Start Offline Mode'' and it still wouldn't open up for some strange reason

Have you tried opening the actual steam program from the Start meu or is that just when it pops up at start-up?
