Hello, I am playing as Barcelona and I am using the 4411 Playmaker tactic from The Better Half With the formation changed to a 442

Now the team has been getting good results, (7-0 H Athletic Bilbao), (5-0 A Hercules) (3-1 A RM)
But I want to know how to get the best out of Cesc Fabregas to be a pivotal part of the match like Xavi. Any suggestions in Player Instructions and/or formation modifications for him?

Advanced Playmaker - Attack / Support

Advanced Playmaker - Support
Long shots - Rarely
Run with ball - Rarely
Creative Freedom - Full
Through Balls - Often
Tackling - Hard
Run from deep - Sometimes

Not only is he an incredible passer but he breaks up opposition moves very often for me as Arsenal

I think the running from deep would be good for him to play a duo-position role up front but his stamina isn't too resilient, seems very good though.

I just looked at the stats from my last game and Cesc only got 10 passes, Xavi got around 60 (Which still isn't good) but still. :/

Play him in centre mid field as an advanced playmaker, attack. trust me.

Aren't Xavi and Fabregas both a bit similar in their play to both excel at what they do?

Does his number of completed passes increase or does he become a detained striker?

Passes increase a lot. Note that I'm talking about centre midfield not attacking midfield position. I'll assume he's already the playmaker.

I would say as a Deep Lying Playmaker, but just up his notches on mentality by one or two, have creative freedom as full and lower his tackling,

Yes but there's no point in having them on my team if I can't have them used to their full potential and that means tactically reworking so the team is a well-oiled machine. In a sense. Somewhat.

i used him as advanced playmaker on support, he did well. never got him to score more than like 10 goals in a season though....oh and football manager isn't the same as real life. don't be dissapointed that xavi doesn't get over 100 passes each game like he does in real life, it doesn't work like that. getting 60 is a match is great in the game

Centre Midfielder on Support duty.

Highest amount of creative freedom, one or two clicks into the Attacking mentality and allow him to Move into Channels.

Yes, but what I said, and you agreed with me, they can't both perform optimally in the same 2 man midfield. I'd try maybe box to box along side Xavi though, with max creativity of course.

I'd drop a striker for an anchorman in DM to allow Xavi and Fabregas the freedom to attack. Drop Pedo and play Iniesta and Messi on the wings with Villa up front. Xavi - Advanced playmaker - support with max creativity. Try Fabregas as box to box with max creativity, run from deep - often, roam from position, no holding up the ball and through balls often. Set Xavi as your playmaker, hopefully this gives Xavi license to create and Fabregas can contribute a fair few goals while Xavi ages, and he eventually takes over as playmaker.

Xavi is just way too good to be sold in my opinion, work around the problem for a few seasons where his legs will go and will be back-up to Cesc.

Well I'm in my 3rd season and the lad's 33 but I'll see if the tactic of yours works its that the two are so closely similar at their job that the distribution of quality is shocking and I don't want to bench Cesc so I'll definetly be giving this a shot.

Well if you intend to play both Xavi and Fabregas then maybe you could play Xavi as deep lying playmaker support and Fabregas as advanced playmaker attack( in an AMC position). Then have them swap roles and position during the match. It works for my Arsenal save using Ramsey as the Deep lying playmaker and Fabregas as the Advanced Playmaker.

Yeah right. A team without its maximum potential will always fail. :D
