Getting the best out of m'vila

Ive just purchased M'Vila for my Man Utd team for 30m as such a big buy I really dont want him to flop, How do I get the best out of him? Im currently playing 4-4-2 Rigid with a controlling mentality. my Squad is

De Gea
Rafael Jones Vidic Evra
Nani M'Vila Kovacic Rodrigues
Hernandez Rooney

Kovacic plays as a AP I was thinking of putting M'Vila as a BWM defensive?

Ball winning midfielder defensive. Then I altered the slider so he was even more defensive. Think I gave him some PPM's too like plays simple passes, maybe dictates tempo too. That's what I had him on for my FM11 Arsenal save and he was just an animal. Used to clear up anything that looked threatening. I also used to play him as an Anchorman in a 4-5-1 and again he'd just dominate midfields.
