Bradford City's Phil Parkinson has left the club after agree a move to Barnsley, the move seems a strange switch for Parkinson as it doesn't really seem like a step forward. When asked about the move Parkinson was very clear about recent events that had transpired at Bradford City. "The club had lost faith in my vision, and what I thought was right to move them forward. Leaving was the only option and I'm grateful to walk straight into another job with people who believe in my vision for the future."

Stuart McCall is the bookies favorite to return to Valley Parade, the city legend although doing very well in Scotland may not be able to resist the chance to return to the club he loves with the aim of returning them to the Premier League. The league in which he played with them as a player. 3/1

Aidy Boothroyd the Bradford born manager has established himself as a championship level manager and could be a great choice to bring stability to the club. The odds are 7/1 but could be a very shrewd appointment

Peter Beagrie another Bradford Legend could take up his first role in management and return to the club in which he was most well known as a player. This is unlikely as he's just taken up a new role with Sky Sports as a pundit, but the pull of management might be an offer to good to turn down. 12/1

Chairman's interview

Bradford City Chairman Mark Lawn sat down for a conference with the local press today to address the issue of the new manager. He made clear his desires to move on from the past and press forward with the important task of hiring the right man for the job. "Look, we are grateful for what Phil did for this club, the League cup run and promotion from league 2 was a fantastic achievement. It's time to stop dwelling on the past and looking to the future. I want the right man to take us forward and I'll take radical steps to make sure we get the right man."

Question: How far in are you with the search? can you give us any indication as to who will be hired?

Answer: "Look, I'd like to have someone come in very soon, so they can have all of pre season to prepare the team and implement their vision and ideas. I got a very interesting phone call last night, something I didn't expect. I'm almost certainly going to act upon it. You can expect a press conference in the next couple of days in which all will be revealed."

Not surprised someone decided to do a game after yesterday lol good luck with this!

Mark Lawn:
Hello, Mark Lawn speaking.
Unknown Voice: Hi there, I'm a huge fan of the club, and I'd like to speak to you about taking the club forward.
Mark Lawn: Go ahead, I'm all ears.
Unknown voice: Well, it's going to take some investment but with the backing of the board, given 10-15 million pounds even I could take the club to the premier league and I'm just a fan.
Mark Lawn: Your telling me that If i invested 15 million pounds, that you believe you could make Bradford City a Premier League club again?
Unknown voice: I'm telling you that an idiot could make Bradford City a Premier League club with 15 million pounds investment.
Mark Lawn: Tell me a bit about yourself. I'm interested in how you think this would be so achievable.
Unknown voice: Look, I was born in Bradford, I'm a Bradford fan. I love the club and have a great passion to see them win. I've been a season ticket holder of the club since we were last in the Premier League. I've seen the fall and I know exactly what it would take to bring us back to the top.
Mark Lawn: Do you have time to come down for a chat in the next few days to discuss your ideas and see what we can do?
Unknown voice: Of course it would be my pleasure.
Mark Lawn: Great, I look forward to seeing you.

This morning Bradford City Football Club announced the appointment of Markus Marshall, Markus Marshall's CV is full of world class achievements. His latest achievement winning La Liga and the champions league with Barcelona after moving from Burnley where he secured a 3rd and 5th place finish, a league cup and reached a champions league quarter final losing to Real Madrid. The only real problem with these achievements for the fans of Bradford City is that Football Manager 2015 doesn't count as a real life achievement. Adding to the pressure is another factor. The manager is only 22 years of age meaning he becomes the youngest manager in the football league by a significant margin. It is believed that the appointment came from a phone call made by Marshall to the Bradford Chairman Lawn in which he expressed his disappointment at the departure of Phil Parkinson. When asked who he thought was the right man to replace Parkinson. Marshall wasn't short of confidence to express that he had a vision that could change things if he was given the chance.

Bradford have given Marshall a one year deal and expect to see quick and dramatic results considering the extent of the risk but have assured the young manager of supporting him in the process of attaining his UEFA coaching badges and a one year deal in which he must hit the ground running. Mark Lawn expressed his thoughts regarding the young man. "This young man is special, he loves the club and his passion is clear for all to see. He's not under any illusions and is fully aware that only results will get the fans on board, but each and every Bradford fan can be certain that he wants to win every game just as much, if not more than you. He shares your passion and love for the club."

Love the interface/detail in this. Will definitely read on

Pre Season

Markus Marshall's start at Bradford has hit the ground running, although it's only pre season his team are unbeaten. Fans uncertainty won't have eased too much as Barcelona or Real Madrid wasn't part of the pre season fixture list. The most impressive win being the 2-1 win against Spurs Under 21's team.

We are finding out more about this young manager as the weeks of pre season go by. In this short time he managed to sweet talk his friend Ronald Koeman to set up a link with Bradford giving them access to the youth players of the team with arguably the best young players in England. We wanted to find out how Marshall a 22 year old from Bradford had connections with Ronald Koeman. He let us into a little secret. " I have a friend who works for a pretty successful sports charity. I managed to make a trip to Holland and met a few great people and stayed in touch. Koeman was one of them. I won't reveal much more than that. Maybe I'll need to use more of my connections in the future, I wouldn't want you know them all would I?" Marshall walked away smiling, he seems to be taking to the challenge ahead of him without any pressure at all. Calm, cool and collected.

The only permanent signing Bradford made was of 21 year old American Juan Agudelo on a free transfer.

Questions to Markus Marshall from BBC Leeds

What are you expectations for the league season?

Look, I'm not here to play games, I want to see this club in a higher division and quickly. I'm ambitious and believe in the squad I have and the additions I've made. Can we get promoted.. Yes, Will we? I'll leave that for you to decide. Because you know as well as I do. It doesn't matter what I have to say. You've already decided what's going to happen I'm sure.

What about the FA Cup and Carling Cup?

If I'm honest, the league is my priority. I would love to give the club some special days out, but the aim here in my mind is to build a club that can compete from the highest level of English football on all 3 domestic levels and in the future on the level of Europe's biggest clubs.

To me you seem like a young manager who has some high aims which is great, but you only have a one year deal do you think your being realistic?

I respect the fact that neither you, nor than fans are fully behind me yet, and yes my ambitions are high, but I know something that you don't and I believe in my qualities to be a world class manager. Only time will prove whether what I am saying is true, but I ask for the support of the fans and if I don't meet my goals. Hang me out to dry and I won't even blame you.
