Giving Leads Away Too Often

I don't know what I have done wrong. But I have made a game with Stevenage, I was doing quite well. Top. Still in August, but things keep on going wrong. I give away goals too easily at the end. I was high-flying when I beat Hayes & Yeading 5-1 but now I have drawn 3 games in a row? I asume my chemisty is high, but we keep on under-performing at the end. Sometimes I time waste and make subs. Still give away goals. Also in my last match I gave away 2 cheep goals at the end. Also I missed a penalty. I know I should have changed the taker to Cowan-Hall who usually takes them. But I let the computer decide, which was Cowan-Hall. Instead they picked arlon Pack?

And Mods I didn't know wheather to put this in the help thread, so I put it here. I will remove it if nesseary ;)
 
If i'm under constant pressure towards the end, i never go onto Contain and hold them off i usually change it to Counter and then maybe grab another goal. Trying to keep them out just keeps inviting them onto you i just find it easier to change to counter and then hit them on the brake.
 
It's not always late goals aswell. We will play fantastically then give away a goal after 60 odd mins.
 
sounds like a lack of concentration from some players
 
It's probably nothing to do with your tactics... though hitting them on the counter, especially with pacey strikers, is the best way to deal with the late game surge.

You're players, especially if you lead into the second half often, become complacent. A lack of determination, ambition, professionalism and concentration are usually the culprits here. A determined, influential captain who you fire up at half time is also a great way to hold leads. (Lucas Neill is my favourite for this)

Unfortunately this problem is something you've just gotta deal with game by game, warning against complacency and dropping players who make mistakes late. Breed the problem out.

Well towards the end if you see a pattern of mistakes:

Change to a more defensive philosophy, shorter passing, control ect.
And set your touchline calls to retain possesion, or if its like the 85th-90th minuet say to clear to sidelines.

also fitness plays a big part, so switch out tired players
 
ofcourse this is what you expect when your managing a weak team as theplayers are unlikely to have high concentration,try changing your strategy to contain and use Touchline shouts such as 'Play even safer' and 'Drop Deeper'
 
try to man mark the oppositions strikers or maybe play with a defensive midfielder
 
My friend.. I was playing champions final , was wining Man United 4 - 0 Juventus , in 10 minutes they manage to score 3 goals. If the game wasnt about to end i am sure i was going down.
 
I'm also utterly convinced if you sign too many player and sell too many players, your team just wobbles out and sucks at the end of games.

I mean I knew there was going to be problems when i did this, but my Aston villa team is always drawing. Like always... The title slowly slips from my grasp
 
This is fixed, with some new tactics. Now I am 3rd in league, up from 9th.
