I have taken over Rangers and aim to take Rangers back to being a top club in Scotland. I will be taking it one step at a time and my first aim will be to win League 1 and gain promotion to the Scottish Championship.

With Rangers summer signings unable to play until September 1st I would have to make do with the players from last season until then. Stage 1 of the return to the Premier League was completed by McCoist now I would complete stage 2.

The campaign started at Ibrox in the first round of the Scottish League Challenge Cup, a comfortable 3-1 win to start things off.

The second match was to take place at East End Park away to Dunfermline in the first round of the Scottish League Cup. A truly horrible performance saw us get no shots on target and Dunfermline scoring from a cross see's us out the competition very early on. very disappointing.

View attachment 404622
First league match of the season and we were away to Dunfermline again. We dominated and created much more chances than the League cup match but still drew 1-1 despite leading, another own goal from the keeper was disappointing. Poor start to the league campaign.

Second round of the Scottish League Cup and this was to be our best performance yet at home to Dumbarton. A good win and into the next round.

View attachment 404616
First home league match and we dominated comfortably, more goals would've been favourable but a clean sheet and a win nonetheless.

View attachment 404612
Easy 3-0 win and another clean sheet, even a first Rangers goal for young teenager Luca Gasparotto.

View attachment 404610
Our first game with the new summer recruits eligible to play and it was a disaster. Bilel Mohsni sent off on his debut before Darren Smith scores the winner for Stenhousemuir with four minutes to play. Woeful result.

View attachment 404608
Third round of the Scottish League Challenge Cup and we were away to Albion Rovers a division below us. Jon Daly's first goals for the club rescued us from an embarrassing cup exit as we trailed 2-0 with 14 minutes to go a Daly double forced extra time. After a goal for each side in extra time penalties were required to which Andy Little scored the winning penalty for a place in the next round.

First home defeat and a dreadful start to the league campaign, Lee Wallace sent off in the first half and Airdrie score four goals with four shots on target. Poor result.

More Results to follow.

First away win of the season and hopefully our troubles away from home now over with a good win. First goal for Nicky Clark aswell.

View attachment 534119
Another win in the bag here, disappointed to not create more chances and for allowing Ayr so many. Although it is another three points on the board.

View attachment 534132
So much dominance but only two goals to show for it, another win though and another three points.

View attachment 534138
Scottish League Challenge Cup semi-final and we required penalties to get through this round aswell, three players going off injured meant we finished extra time with 9 players having ran out of subs. Through to a place in the final in the end though.

View attachment 534144
Great performance here, we only allowed Forfar two chances and we netted three goals.

View attachment 534149
Another league win and we're finally finding our feet in the division.

View attachment 534156
Scottish Cup Third Round and through in the end but not a great performance against a non-league side to give away so many chances and not comfortably beat them.

View attachment 534168
Our good run of league wins ended, Cammy Bell saving a penalty but we still fall to defeat. Poor result.

View attachment 534180
Back to winning ways quickly thanks to a Bilel Mohsni winner coming off the bench.

View attachment 534184
Challenge Cup final, Christian Nade looked to have won it for Dundee and when Bilel Mohsni was sent off it looked over but Captain Jig saved the day with the last kick of the ball to get extra time before we eventually won on penalties for the third round in a row and we were crowned Scottish Challenge League Cup CHAMPIONS!

First silverware in as Rangers manager and even though it is just the Challenge Cup it is still a trophy and still success.

View attachment 404575
After they beat us at Ibrox it was important we won this and we did, another win for us.

View attachment 404574
We dominated this one and got the win, good win.

View attachment 404573
Scottish Cup Fourth Round, we looked to be comfortably in the next round until losing two goals in the last three minutes meant we needed a replay, what a disaster.

View attachment 404572
The replay after a 2-2 draw saw us 2-1 in front again before losing a late goal meant extra time and penalties was required. We won yet another shoot out.

View attachment 404571
A nice win for us. We're starting to look comfortable in the division.

View attachment 404570
Clean sheet and a win does nicely.

View attachment 404569
Another easy enough win and another clean sheet.

View attachment 404567
East Fife have done really well in the league this season and will be pushing for promotion through the play-offs no surprise we stall here. Still a good point though.

View attachment 404566
Dunfermline have also done well in the league this year and will also be chasing promotion through the play-offs. no surprise we draw again, just hasn't been easy going away to them.

View attachment 404563
After drawing our last two games we get a win here as we march on a game closer to the end of the season.

View attachment 404562
Disappointing to lose here, we've been poor away from home this season.

View attachment 404561
Back to winning ways again but yet another red card for Mohsni, ridiculous!

View attachment 404560
Home to Airdrie and we struggled to win this one, luckily Airdrie miss a penalty and we end up winning by one.

View attachment 404558
Peralta sent off and we end up losing, we're also beginning to lose the consistency.

View attachment 404557
Scottish Cup Fifth Round and to our delight we're through, home to Premier League opposition and a confident performance is pleasing. Great result.

View attachment 404555
Good win over East Fife to stretch our lead at the top of league one. Kyle Hutton back from injury with a goal is pleasing also.

View attachment 404554
We haven't enjoyed playing Stranraer at all but get a comfortable win here.

View attachment 404552
Good win over Dunfermline and good performance.

View attachment 404550With a draw against Celtic waiting for us in the semi-final it looks like the pressure got to us, a dreadful performance against Dundee see's us out in the quarter final of the Scottish Cup.

View attachment 404546
Not a too bad result away at Brechin as we have a comfortable lead at the top.

View attachment 404543ROSS COUNTY WIN SCOTTISH LEAGUE CUP

View attachment 404540
Poor result, disappointing to draw at home.

View attachment 404538
Another draw the end of the season approaching is seeing us take our eye of the ball.

View attachment 404537
The poor results continue as we lose at home.
View attachment 404536
Hammering for us away to Ayr, dreadful.

View attachment 404534
Poor run finally ended as we get a good win at home.

View attachment 404533
Good win away to East Fife they've been tough opposition all season.

View attachment 404530
End of season table shows we won the league by fifteen points which was rather disappointing as we should be winning the league by far more.

The first season over as manager and a double makes it a great start, good run in the Scottish Cup although disappointed not to get to the semi-final to face Celtic. The League Cup was a disappointment but will look to improve on that next season. Looking forward to the next campaign and the beginning of stage three. Good players signed and not much spent but bringing in a good bit from selling players improves our finances and money to spend when we're back in the Premier League.

Season Two Begins in the Scottish Championship

View attachment 401298
The season kicked off defending the trophy we won last season the Challenge Cup. A great start to the new season with a dominant performance.

View attachment 401296
The League Cup was the competition for our second match and a nice easy win over Stranraer at home ensured we got further than last season in this competition.

View attachment 401295
First League match started at home to Raith, a game we seemed comfortable in but only won by one goal. Still a good start and a familiar face scoring for Raith.

View attachment 401294
A Jon Daly hattrick seals a win in round two of the Challenge Cup against Stirling.

View attachment 401292
Tough match against Cowdenbeath but we continue our 100% record at the start of the season.

View attachment 401290
Easily beat Morton at home with a nice win.

View attachment 401289
Another early exit for us in the League Cup as Raith put us out on penalties.

View attachment 401288
Back to winning ways with an away win against Falkirk.

View attachment 401286
One of the big ones in the championship and one I was looking forward to. We made it look easy and strolled to another win.

View attachment 401280
Through to the next round of the Challenge Cup with an easy enough away win.

View attachment 401279
Another big one for us as we faced Dundee at home, disappointing to draw 1-1, but still unbeaten in the league.

View attachment 401278
Easy enough home win over Hamilton despite Lee McCulloch missing a penalty.
