Breaking News: Blackpool appoint Seekings as Manager!

After weeks of speculation, Blackpool have finally announced the appointment of Adam Seekings as their new manager. Many of the fans are surprised by the decision, as this will be Seekings' first venture into club management. Here is what the chairman had to say about the appointment.

Karl Oyston: ''After a meeting with Seekings, we knew straight away that he was the guy we wanted to take the club to the next level. Although he is a newcomer to the managerial side of football, we both agreed on where we see the club going over the next 5 years, and how he plans to make that happen. We have also assured Adam that he will be given as much time as possible to build the team around his ideas, and support him in the decisions he makes.''

We now take you live to Bloomfield Road, where Seekings will hold his first press conference as manager of Blackpool FC.

Journalist: Adam, you sit here today as the new manager of Blackpool FC. How are you feeling?

Adam Seekings: It feels great to be named as the new manager for the club. I have spoken to everyone at the club, including the players, and they have all welcomed me to the club as if I was a big-name manager.

J: Do you feel as though the expectations for the club are matched between yourself and the chairman?

AS: Of course. The discussions that we have about the club are often creative, and it bodes well for the future of the club.

J: When a new manager is appointed to a club, many of the staff fear for their jobs. Will you plan to make any changes to the backroom staff?

AS: I have had a good talk with all the staff at the club, and I have assured them that their jobs are all safe. There is a good set-up at the club, and I would be stupid to change that.

J: It is said that different managers favor different competitions. Is there any competition that you are focusing on more than others?

AS: As a club, our main focus has to be the Championship, and aiming for those promotion places. Success in other competitions is a bonus.

J: One final question. There are a lot of rumours that a few big-name clubs are looking into signing Tom Ince. Are you looking to capitalize on this?

AS: Tom is obviously an important player for the club. But if we want to go to the next level, we need to keep our best players at the club.

That is all from Bloomfield Road this afternoon. We will be looking forward to what the future holds for Blackpool FC.
