Hi Im Port vale on the FM 11 demo and id like somebody to help me make a tactic which is 4-4-2 nice football maybe direct and where my players aint scared of a challenge or too. bit of a bully boy tactic.Could people advise on this or have a look at Port vales squad and help me with a tactic please.Plus im hopeless at corners always getting heading out by defenders Thanks

You could try using Jake's tactic he used in his LLM story. It may be what you are looking for - it is a proven counter attacking tactic. It is for FM10 but you can load FM10 tactics in FM11.

I haven't really tried any LLM in FM11 yet myself. I'm waiting for the full game so I can play in Germany :D

Ok mate il give it a go but i was trying to get peoples advice because i dont like using other peoples tactic no fun in it i like trying make my own but il try jakes and tweak it thanks

When I've been teams in lower league I've found a normal 4-4-2 works well, with short passing and playing pretty wide. Also players who're fast seem to dominate lower leagues.

Do be aware my tactic is for FM 10..

Can't see why its basic principles wouldn't work though. :)

Yeah keep it simple in lower leagues. And Coach is right - the lower the league the better physical stats become, especially acceleration/pace.

a few things i picked up from LLM...look for physical stats rather than technical...keep formations simple (id say 442)...have a centre half, def mid and striker on the bench...dont get ur players running around too much (lower league players wont be fit enough stamina wise)...play with a target man with strength, finishing and heading (just keep pinging crosses into the box)....these tips i got from someone else on here, so im not taking the credit for them...they have been really useful to me tho

personally i play 442, defenders all defending (centre halves both limited defenders, tho i have a faster one covering (basically they just kick and head away danger))...2 centre mids, one def minded and the other support, then two defensive wingers who support (who luckily are pacy and half decent crossers, but tuck in when needed)...strikers, are a target man and poacher...i use OI's, but thats up to you,...i play with and attacking mentality to start with and i use the shouts, clear the ball to flanks or exploit flanks, both home and away, and away, i use play narrower (or if against a top team, at home too)....hope this might be of help to you...good luck with Vale.

Thanks at the min i carnt even win my reserves losing 3-1

anybody got anymore tips on helping me get a good tactic for port vale please

I use a base 4-4-2 with attacking mentality at home if favourite, standard if not, then Defensive away from home if not favourite, standard if you are.

I play:

Tomlinson GK
Yates RB Full Back Automatic
Owen CB Central Defender - Defend
Collins CB Central Defender - Defend
K Taylor LB Full Back Automatic
Rigg - RM - Winger - Attack
Griffiths - CM - Ball Winning Midfielder - Defend
Roberts - CM - Advanced Playmaker - Support
Dodds - LM - Winger - Attack
J Richards - CF - Advanced Forward - Attack
M Richards - CF - Deep Lying Forward - Support

Did OK, got promoted through the play-offs in the first season

cheers mate did the rico brothers score many as i try them as tm and poacher do you tweak anymore of the tactic or not mate thanks for the help
