Gosport Borough is a semi-professional team located on the coast southern England opposite the great city of Portsmouth. Recently promoted to the Skrill South and predicted to finish dead last, the board have decided to hire a new manager in hopes of surviving the first year.

After briefly looking at the squad, we seem to have an abundance of 'decent' central defensive players and a complete lack of quality up front and out wide. With that in mind and also being such a rubbish team, maybe a narrow defensive tactic is the go. We'll see.

Just a quick look at the clubs overview page for anyone interested. Looking at the finances of club and we are in dire straits. 8 grand in debt and predicted at over 100 grand in debt by the end of the season and I haven't even signed anyone. So, we'll need a cup run or a quality finish in the league to offset this somewhat.

So. What are my aims? Not get relegated first and foremost but in the long run put together a series of promotions and put Gosport Borough on the map. Now, I know alot of people put an emphasis on developing youth at the club and all that, but I feel that promotion and financial security are a must before we can even think about raising the infrastructure of the club to the point where we can develop a stable intake of quality youngsters. With that in mind. Lets begin the adventure of this small club and make some history.

For reference. I started with Sunday League experience with the nationalities of English/Australian at the age of 25. I have most of the major leagues in Europe down to their lowest levels which gave me a player count of about 70,000.

I'll be posting next when I complete pre-season and i'll give a look at what players I've signed and the key players I feel will contribute most to the season.

Will be a tough challenge and very interested to see how you do and a couple of my mates play for them too. :)

Preseason has ended and it was a mixed bag. Had a great 6-0 win, couple of draws and some tough losses to some average teams. The result I look at most was the win against Oxford City. Nevertheless, the tactic i'm playing is coming along well enough. Playing a Sam Allardyse inspired 4-6-0, Solid defence with a good counter. We'll see what happens.

Signed four players but lost four players. Not great but manageable. Hope for a clean season with few injuries, probably not going to happen but we can hope. Most hopeful about the Nigerian centre midfielder, young, athletic and looking alright for the league two.

Finger's crossed and hopefully we can get a few good results. Next post after 10 games or so.

Yeah I tried with these got sacked after a takeover so hope it dont happen to you

So the first couple months have passed and we have done sensationally well. We are sitting tenth and are in the first round of the FA Cup. In the league we are 4-5-3 which for a team that was predicted to finish flat bottom is a remarkable achievement.

As we progress further into the season and games begin to pile up and we're still competing in the FA Cup, FA Trophy and obviously in the league, I think we're going to start losing a few guys and have some fairly difficult results. Fingers crossed and lets get cracking on the next set of games. Maybe a sneaky run into the second round of the FA Cup to fill our coffers?
