Defoe calls for Champions League Spot

Long time Spurs striker Jermain Defoe has came out in the press today claiming that he is 'beyond excited' for the coming season and that the new signings have made the team stronger despite Gareth Bale's world record transfer to Real Madrid. He fully believes in his team, that boast the newly purchased talent of Brazilian powerhouse Paulinho, the young and exciting Argentine Erik Lamela and even his challenger Roberto Soldado and states that Champions League football is what the whole team is aiming for in the coming season.

Our footballing experts fully agree with Jermain; Villas Boas has consistently built upon his successes with this squad during his time at the Lane and his dealings in the transfer window have only bolstered the team meaning that no-longer will they need to look longingly to the Welsh wizard who departed in the summer to win them games as he so often did last season. However with Villas-Boas' mentor, 'The Special One' returning to London for a second stint at Chelsea,Arsenal recruiting the supreme talent of Mesut Ozil, and Manchester City only strengthening their already world-class roster things will not be easy for this young and exciting Spurs side over the coming months.

Currently extremely busy with University until the 18th and then this story will pick up.
