Grimsby-worse budget than last season im in trouble now

I've just finished my first season with Grimsby Town, which was a very difficult season as the team was very inconsistent and it was clear to me that we needed a full squad over haul to bring in some new players and get rid of some deadwood, including staff.

We finished in 15th which was an over achievement especially for the first season in charge, largely down to the constant new short term loans, and the great signing for Lewis Guy for free and scored 27 goals.

But now I've cleared out my squad getting rid of 8 players brining in 20k, a scout and 1 coach and my assistant manager.

This was all in anticipation of the board giving my an improved transfer budget or wage budget or both, they ended up giving me no money yet again and they have lowered the wage budget from 17k to 15k, even though they got 69k for league position, 60k parachute payments, 100k TV rights and 25K transfer fees which adds up to 254K.

Yet from all that money they give me zero and lower my wage budget, so now i'm left with half squad and back room, so its hard to bring in any top players or staff with maximum wage aloud of £400 each, so even unattached players are impossible to sign.

and even if i get a maximum of 4 loans i still don't think it will be enough, SHOE STRING.

The club has more than likely run at a loss last season even if you got all that. If the club runs at a loss expect to see your budget slashed. If you want to have any sort of budget you need to at least break even or make a profit

1. make money by
Scheduling away pre season friendlies
Win stuff
Scheduling mid week friendlies against premiership reserve squads

The parachute payments/prizemoney and tv rights are usually not enough to cover annual expenses. The majority of you earnings should be made in the preseason (unless you're banking on a very deep cup run)

2. loan as many players as you can and look for players on a free - you don't need top players just competent ones - use the shortlists

guys like Michael Nardiello, Thaer will more than do the job

3. Use the 48 month installment for transfer but be very careful to not overextend as this can send the club into admin real quick

4. you only need one scout and that scouts job should be next opposition. Even if you find a wonderkid he's sure as **** not coming.
