WENGERS WOES.

Today is a sad day for Arsenal Football Club. The man that brought Arsenal to be the Top-Class European team they are today, Arsene Wenger, has out of nowhere, resigned! Wenger spent close to 14 years with the Gunners winning numerous trophies, and bringing all kinds of success to the club. But Wengers side have been trophy-less since the FA cup of 2005, which we believe is one of the reasons for his resignation. Speaking in his fairwell press conference Wenger had this to say "this is an extremely emotional time for Arsenal fans, and for me. I have enjoyed my time at this club, they have been very good to me and my career, it's like my second home. I felt frustration growing from our supporters, and i dont feel that i am the man who can get this club back to the top, i'm getting old, tired and would much rather taking a break from football and enjoying family life for a while."

Speculation is rife as to who will take over from Wenger as manager, with Manuel Pelligrini out as clear favourite in the bookies. But some believe that talks have been held with Dennis Bergkamp prior to Wengers decision. Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood attended the press conference, and he had this to say about the situation "We will be actively searching to find a new manager for the club before the players return from holiday and pre-season training begins. We understand that the club must win a trophy soon, and whoever we appoint will be informed this and expected to follow suit within two seasons at most. Whovere we appoint, i can assure you, will be thoroughly interviewed and made sure that he is the proper choice. Arsenal Football Club will be, once again, a major force in world football."

The next update will be in a few hours as i am off out, busy, so please read the intro and let me know what you think :) like i said, any feedback would be appreciated.

Who's This?
An absolute cracker of a story for you today in the world of football, just 2 weeks after the resignation of Arsene Wenger, Arsenal have appointed former Irish international footballer, and lifelong Arsenal fan Jay Doyle as manager. Doyle has no experience whatsoever as a manager and some arsenal fans **** expresssing their anger at the appointment saying that this decision is 'suicidal' for the club, and that the clubs dignity and respect amongst the football world is in danger of being perished with such an inesperienced manager at the helm.
-------
We sent our reporter our on the streets of North London to find out what the people really thought about Doyle's appointment.

Reporter: I can tell your an Arsenal fan, clearly your wearing the jersey. What do you think about the appointment of the new manager?
Fan: Personally I believe Mr Hill-Wood and his board memebers have made a mistake appointing this... this... wannabee who thinks he can take on a club like Arsenal. Shocking. Shocking.
------
Reporter : sir, sir! Arsenal Fan? If so what do you think about the appointment of Jay Doyle?
Fan: Yeah, Life-long Gunner. I'm not sure where i stand on the whole new manager scenario, obviously we're gonna miss Arsene, but i feel his transfer policy was slowly but surely leaving us behind the rest of the 'top four' teams. Doyle is inexperienced yeah, but he seems like he knows his stuff and of course he's a gunner and thats always gonna help. We'll see who he brings in and how pre-season goes and then i'll judge him.

And Of Course we were going to get the odd Spurs Fan!
Reporter: Sir can i have a moment of your time?
Fan: yeah sure!
Reporter: Whats Your Opinion on The appointment of Jay Doy..
Fan:.. GLORY GLORY TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR!! Doyle as the manager, pfft, all i can say is, he's no Harry Redknapp, and this is the season that we over-take our 'friendly neighbours' ;)
------
So Mixed opinions out on the streets of London, Doyle refused to have a press conference until he was used to his new surroundings in London and with Arsenal, but he did agree to a one-on-one interview with sky sports reporter Frank James, and we can bring some of that interview here to you today in todays paper, heres how it went....
-------

James: So here you sit as manager of your boyhood club Arsenal. You must be delighted, what are your feelings at this time?
Doyle: i still honestly cannot believe it, i sent my application to the Arsenal board, and was amazed when they asked to see me in person! I cant put into words what this means to me and how happy i am, ever since i was young i always wanted to be a manager, i was interested in playing the game from a young age aswell, but one day i knew i'd be a manager, i enjoyed my career as a player, and i played many times for my country, but i loved the tactical side of the game and here i am today.
James: Good to hear. So can we expect much changes in perssonnel because we understand that you met with the squad yesterday for the first pre season training session. Did anybody stand out or appeal to you?
Doyle: I don't think i'll be letting many people go, but i will definitly be bringing in one or two new faces, maybe more, who knows. i think we have a good squad, but we need something extra and i think i can bring that to the club with some new players.
James: Oh so do you have any specific targets in mind?
Doyle: *laughs* I have some targets in mind yes, for different areas of the squad, but i wont be revealing any names today sorry.
James: No problem. You seem like you know your stuff and your a former player so you obviously know the game. But some Arsenal fans are saying your too inexperienced in the Managerial side of the game and this could all be a disaster, whats your opinion on those statements?
Doyle: i know im inexperienced, of course i am, but i believe i have the desire, and belief that i can take this club to the next level and to where we want to be. I believe i can keep the fans happy and win some silverware much sooner rather than later.
James: Thanks you for your time sir. Now go do whatever you new managers do *laughs*
Doyle: *laughs* Thanks for having me, Goodbye.
