After winning promotion from Blue Square south, H&R manager Jack Kidd went to the board meeting before the players would return for pre-season training. He told the board that he felt he could win the league resulting in the generous H&R boardroom giving him a trasfer budget of 75k and a wage budget of 10k. With the current wage budget at 6.5k, Kidd felt his ambitions could be achieved. Kidd expressed his dissapointment in the new sponsership deal that was negotiated by the club because it would only generate 7k a year and Kidd hoped to be in league one by then. That would not be good for the long term future of the club. Kidd was pleased that the club were able to get me Reading as a parent club and was expecting some quality young players to come to the club.
Kidd then arranged a number of pre-season friendlies agaisnt championship sides to generate money for the club. Kidd planned to play trialists in these game so it would not have a negative effect on the first team squad.
The first cup was very good, we drew 2-2 with Ipswich with two ***** Robert glancing headers and then won on penalties putting us through to the final agaisnt Wolves. This was with my first team though, for the next cup it will just be trialists. We actually beat Wolves well on penalties, Keough scored a wonder goal for them first half but Roger equalised in the secodn and we held on for penalties and won, time to rest the first team because nearly all the trialists are here so they will play the two reamining cups, i'll let my Assistant take care those though. I've completed the signing of pacey front man Simon Thomas who joins for nothing from Crystal Palace. I'm also looking at a fair few players who are looking to join on bosmans.
Will update later, off to play tennis. RIP Bobby Robson, and lets smash the Aussies at Cricket.

Hampton & Richmond have been very active in the transfer market as they prepare for the first season in BSP, Manager Jack Kidd has already rejected bids for star striker Galuppo as they bid to win a second consecutive promotion. French keeper Thierry Gorée has been sold to MK Dons for 20k while BSS player of the season Eric Farro is sold to Cambridge for 16k. In a recent press conference, Kidd stated that intended to bring in new faces to replace two of his star players, he also stated that he fully expects Stephen Foley and young winger Stuart Dallas to fill the boots of Farro. Meanwhile Denmark U21 keeper Mikkel Andersen joins on loan from Reading. Kidd stated he was delighted to have a player of his calibre join the club. Captain Rodric Kassime also left the club for 10k and is now playing for french side FC Sete 34.
In other news, H&R head a 90k bid accepted for Josh Lambo but he rejected the lucrative salary of £1,100 which would of made him H&R first £1000 a week player.
Kidd has also stated he is looking forward to the rest of pree-season and can't wait to get the season underway, young winger Stuart Dallas has returned from injury.
Current Budget: 104k
H&R enjoyed a good pre-season beating the likes of Preston and Morecambe. Despite losing to 3-2 to championship side Barnsley in the last pre-season game, Kidd said he was delighted with how his team had performed and is looking forward to more of same when they travel to York next week. The highlight of the pre-season campaign was 5-2 victory over Preston with Simon Thomas bagging a hatrick, the young striker certainly has a point to prove after being dissowned by Crystal Palace.
