Hi all,

I have started a long term non-league save. I have got my local team Alton into the Conference after 5 promotions in 8 years.

This is all good, but the hard Brexit has been imposed. This in itself as I had it last year so fully understand the connotations when signing foreign players. E.g. 85% of international games played etc.

The problem I currently have is a 19 year old re gen. He came through my youth system at 16 and has played 70 games over three seasons, predominantly on a youth contract.

I have gone to given him his first pro contract as clubs are sniffing around him but Brexit has not allowed me to do so.

Is there a way to get round this?

I thought after 3 seasons, he would have been considered homegrown and the rues not apply?

He needs to be 5 years in England to have double nationality.

You should had contracted him as soon as possible, now it can be too late.
