Me mates computer went down a couple of nights ago, and splurted up a 'driver problem' message when the monitor finally came back on. This all happened just as he was starting his match-view in career mode.

Now, he has been left with a monitor that has yellow lines going down the screen, and seemingly £60 to fix it.

Has anyone else ever had any issues like this? I'm sort of hoping it is the Graphics card (which I hope to test once I find my screwdriver) to make it cheaper for him to replace, but right now, it's just completely conked.

Doesn't sound like a monitor problem, sounds like the graphics card to me. Try updating it's drivers.

Also try plugging in things other than your PC into your monitor, Xbox, PS3, TV, Laptop, etc to see if the problem is still there.

Definitely the GFX Card. Only happens when Football Manager is loaded up, though. The problem started as we played FM, and has continued to happen when FM is played.

I've put some Arctic Silver 5 on the Chip, and that's slightly improved it, along with switching to 2D graphics, but FM has definitely pushed the GFX Card too hard.

Not realy...look what real 3d games do to graphics
It seems like your comp is geting old :)
