Whats the opinion of Mr I.Prone, Is it time to sell him, will anyone buy him ? or do United fans think he can bounce back and get his career back on track with MU.

Personally I think he should be sold on if anyone will take him as its an easy wage hes earning although Im sure its not what he wants.

hes not gonna be sold. the fact that he was even rushed back shows how SAF rates him. unless he is told to retire i cant see SAF giving up on for. and also for the record, his current injury is a calf strain, not his knees

Give him until the end of the season at least. Nobody will sign him in January anyway and if he manages to get back to full fitness then he could prove vital in the title race and in Europe. Creative player who knows how to defend.

If he's still picking up injuries left right and centre at the end of the season, then sell him if possible. There's been rumours that we're checking if we have the funds to release him at the end of the season. Apparently if he makes it to the end of the season he would've cost us £35.5M in total since joining.

Hope he can come back from it all though, love him as a player.

Mike I wasn't suggesting that it was the same injury, I understand the reason hes out again is because he was rushed back and his bodys not used to the running about. I hope he could come back to full fitness and play the way he did at bayern he would be very vital and gladly have him replace carrick, I'd also hope we could swap Carrick for Huddlestone.

Mike, any idea how long the calf strain will keep him out for? its been a couple of weeks already but i'm sure it will take longer than usual cos his legs must be a bit stiff.

No point selling him, if we get him fit he's a very good player - imo he will retire a Man United player, be it early due to his knees or in his mid 30's

it was five weeks from when it happens. i dont we will see him before the new year though. SAF will want him for europe

The only way someone else will sign him would be on a deal similar to Louis Saha. ie, pay as you play. If he accepts those sort of terms, then he will be wanted by virtually everyone.

ah ok fair enough. but no we wouldnt get rid. becuase it would cost even more to find a player like him. hes the only player of his type in the squad

Isen't his contract up at the end of the season??? I think Utd will keep hold of him but more than likely he will pick up another knock or 2 before the end of the season and Utd will let him leave and find a replacement.

edit its not a strain its actually a complete tear so its even longer than 5 weeks

I remember seeing somewhere about a player who got injured for a season and vowed to play the next season for free for that club! I think if hargeaves was to get a new contract it should be a wage reduction anyway I think he owes us that.

Oguchi Onyewu for AC Milan.

as it stands united have no intention of letting him go. so we cant really speculate until the tear has healed and we see what happens next. SAF's stance is that he wont give up on him unless he is forced to reitre

I personaly think he should be sold, these injuries and all its just better to get a replacement.

ouch

well like you said, SAF will want him for Europe so he has until Feb to get fit :)

He is such a good player, but has hardly played for ManUre. Will Fergie take a huge loss and sell/release, or keep his faith.

I think it's a great shame for England. He got a lot of stick, most of it unfair, but he could have been the difference for us IMO. We still lack a quality marker like him in the England team to play in midfield.

If I remember rightly, Hargreaves was England's best player at 2006 World Cup. Hugely under rated player IMHO, just so unfortunate, if not cursed with his injuries.

All this stuff about selling him, its nonsense.

If he can't play at United, he's not going to want to not play at another club, and if he can play, he's too good to be sold by United.

I really hope this new injury heals up soon and we see him back in action, could really cure our midfield problem.

This is what Ferguson has had to say today about Hargreaves (at the Valencia Pre-Match press conference);

Manchester United are growing increasingly concerned over Owen Hargreaves' continued absence through injury, Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed.

Manager Ferguson confirmed Hargreaves has returned to Munich for further treatment on the hamstring injury he picked up against Wolves in November which has ruled him out for another lengthy stint.

The defensive midfielder was making his first start in over two years following surgery on both knees to cure a serious tendinitis problem.

And Ferguson says he worries whether the 29-year-old, who is out of contract at the end of the season, will be able to make a successful return to action.

"We are all concerned," said Ferguson.

"He has not played for over two years so we would have to be super-optimistic to think everything in the garden was rosy about him making comebacks.

"What we are trying to do is help the lad. That in itself is our biggest challenge. We want to help the lad try to get back to a level where he can still play football."

Ready

Ferguson is adamant Hargreaves was ready to make his return when he ran out earlier this season, despite having played no warm-up games beforehand.

"This hamstring injury is a real kick in the teeth," said Ferguson. "He was doing so well in training before the Wolves game. He was absolutely superb.

"There were no qualms whatsoever about putting him in, even though he had only trained for nine days.

"We were confident enough to play him but unfortunately it has proved to be a disappointment for us.

"If he had realised early enough and come off before he had done any more damage, it could have been three to four weeks. But is a complete tear."

Ferguson has refused to entertain suggestions that former Bayern Munich star Hargreaves could decide to quit the game altogether, adding: "He has to fight it. There is no other way."
