Has anyone tried to raise a poor league into becoming a top 10 league?

For instance, taking a club in a small nation, building them up; and then selling your excess players for cheap to other teams in your league in order to improve their squad? This way you build competition and are not dominating the league every year.

Some examples would be Moldova, Croatia, Hungary, Cyprus, Slovenia, Slovakia etc...A couple good teams in those leagues, but top to bottom are weak.

Was thinking of doing a save in Cyprus with a custom DB, and selling some of the players I don't need once I've established myself in European competitions.

Are you asking if any of us have or if anyone anywhere have?

Done it in Belarus with RGUOR Minsk. In real life they are an academy side which as produced many of the current Belarusian stars. I added them into the third division, got back-to-back promotions to the top league, finished 3rd in 2013 and won it ever since. We're currently in the year 2044 and the Belarusian league is jumping between 7th and 9th in the league rankings in Europe. Only a few seasons we haven't won the cup. We've won the EL once and the CL five times.

The other teams are just pure ***** though, they always manage to **** it up in Europe. Just sold my star defender for £57m, got a bit of an Arsenal thingy going with almost £500m in the bank (except I'm winning trophies). We have a nice 62k seater stadium, named after me although we could use a bigger one. Don't think the board will build a new one any time soon because it's only 14 years old. Despite RUOR having one of the best academies in the game, the youth academy hasn't produced any world class players, decent players for the national team and like that but nothing special. I've thought of loaning some money, in other words buying their players for £20m or something, to the other clubs to try and make them a force in Europe too. I did a similar thing in Finland with HJK, and by 2030 Inter had already won the Europa League.

yeah, I'm mainly looking at if any people have built an entire nation by helping out their competition.

I'm not concerned with if someone took a small club and dominated their league year after year.

I played a save in portugal when FM11 first came out; The only teams in the entire league that were any good were Porto, Sporting, Benfica, and my team Amadora....Braga were mediocre. The problem was that every other team was absolute trash and the top 5 teams would be a dozen or more points above everyone else at the end of the season (Benfica and I rotated undefeated seasons every year).

I thought it would be great if I would have sold some of my backups to the lower teams and developed equality throughout the league.

with my helsingborg IF the swedish league was 5th league in europe in 2021, mostly because of my team and because, in order to stop me, the AI made a japanese tycoon buy kalmar, that became the second swedish powerhouse in europe

I'm currently trying to do that with a malaysian club, currently in the 11th season, with the aim of trying to increase the quality of the players in general and the league itself. So far, the asian leagues ranking for malaysian super league (MSL) goes up and down every season, for eg. it rose 12 ranks, but drop 10 ranks the next season, with the league reputation hovering around half star to 1 star every season.

I'm doing a save with a Croatian club, will post more details soon, but in my 8th season I won the Champions league, now I'm 9th season.
