I enjoy the editing but I think I've taken things too far!

I downloaded Google Sketch up and went about making a stadium for my team! Has anyone else gone this far?

Wouldn't it be cool to be able to design a stadium like this and import it into the 3d match graphics? FM 11 for that maybe? (not enough time to get it in FM 10)

Let me know what you think!

it would be cool yeah
but thats not the job of a manager.
managers rarely even sign players any more
nevermind design and build stadiums

Yeah this is true, even though the stadium does look really good. To answer your question though, I think you have gone too far :P

Haven't finished yet either, I still need to design the roof! (And the railway station and car park... and hot dog stand... etc.)

They will never implement this idea, why?

Because Football Manager is supposed to be a simulation representing the real world of football.

As the poster above mentioned, managers don't design stadiums, architects do that.

Yes i think you have gone too far, who manager creates a stadium??xDD

BTW you stadium is cool.:D

I was thinking it would be part of the editor... an addition to the 3d match engine.

I started out by saying I enjoyed the editing, and the pictures are of my made up team and the kits I designed for them, which is not a function of the managerial part of the game, nor is it part of the realistic day to day job of the manager to invent people, or clubs, or design the kits... or build the stadium.

Anyway, once I've finished I was going to make a background out of the stadium design for my FM, as the current BG is Croft Park (Blyth Spartans stadium).

he's not sayin they should implement stadium building into FM all he's done is design a stadium for his team that will be seen in the game, ust like adding kits or badges

i think you have gone too far mate, i wouldnt like this to be implemented into fm in anyway as the manager has no control over this in real life and just would feel too un natural

Not too far.

It shud be an option in a new real time editor that the game allows.

It's un real for managers to be able to change how good his player is or inject money into the team so why not allow them to create their own stadiums.

It'd be great for if you wanted to make your own team in a database

I guess you all got it wrong. He explained that he wants this feature in the editor, to use the stadium in FM. As a manager doesn't design stadiums, but also hardly ever creates teams from scratch, so this is kinda irrelevant to the game, it's just a way to "live out" your creative side.

Nice job mate, keep it up! I'll take a look on Sketchup as well. :)

i rembember you used to be able to do this on a n old lma manager (although the game was rubbish) i think this would be a good feature to include have you got a link fo that google sketch up programme you used?? could you pm it to me???

I made the background myself, I used a picture of Croft park and the png of my teams badge, and set them to 50% opacity over the normal background of the three skin.

and here's the google sketch up link for those who want it!
