After twenty seasons in FM, my virtual manager has accumulated an extensive array of trophies with some of Europes tier 2 clubs. NB 5 Champs Cup, 5 CWC, 1 EPL, 4 La Ligas, Coca Cola Champ, 1 Euro cup and a few other domestic trinkets along the way. Now i'm the only World Class manager on the list in the current FM database.

My thinking at the start of this career was to learn the game, build a good team, win a trophy of two and the job offers would flood in. Our rise through the ranks of the English divisions CC2 to EPL (Bradford) might have got some attention....not so. I had to resign from Bradford and apply for jobs.

Then got West Ham job won league and euro cup....no job offers. Resigned from West Ham and eventually got a job in Spain with Valencia....we won the lot....no job offers. I was really expecting the Tier One clubs to pile in here and try to wrestle me away from Valencia......not so.

Just for clarity by Tier One i mean (AC Milan, Inter, Roma, Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Barcelona, Real Madrid) the big guys.

Again i fancied a move to Serie A.....had to resign from Valencia.

Gor Fiorentina job and repeated the success....no job offers....until i applied for the Arsenal job (who are on their **** by this point).

So what am i trying to say.......does anyone know why the AI didn't offer me any Tier One jobs???

is there something i have done wrong.

That surprises me, im normally flooded with offers. (Not bragging or anything) (:))

Bare in mind nationality and the languages you can speak makes a big difference.

And the compensation other clubs would have to pay to your current employer, hence you got a lot of jobs when applying as no compensation is needed to be paid.

youve done well so i cant see many problems, and youve managed in multiple leagues so have an understanding of them, maybe there just arent any jobs going at the moment, have the bigger teams got managers which are settled in or are they constantly changing them?

It depends also on the success of the big sides. They are not going to sack their manager if he has just won a double, although stranger things have happened. By resigning to generate offers for your services means you become a 'journeyman' manager, which means you may not be at the club long. I stayed at Fiorentina for 5 seasons, and was offered the AC Milan job, spent three seasons there, and was offered Chelsea, Barca and Bayern jobs, whereas another save I was at Newcastle for 6 seasons, and was only offered Villarreal and England jobs in that time. It just depends on the way the teams play in your specific game.

Yes, just give it a while.

with my hull save after 3 season in the prem near the top of the league (3rd) no cups under my belt i was getting like lots of job offers from west ham pompy everton......

Thanks for the feedback chaps.....My nationality in the game is Scottish....using ver 9.3.0.

Just a bit peeved off......it seems if the Tier One clubs are qualifying for the Champs league they keep their managers.....the jobs only come up if they are doing really poorly.

That said Man Utd knocked back my job application before i went to arsenal....they gave the job to a much less experienced manager. Dont think Man Utd like Scottish managers (;-)

I'll check the journayman manager thing......but 8 seasons at bradford.....4 at west ham.....1 athletic bilbao.....4/5 Valencia.....3 Fiorentina.

The only thing that i'd thought may impact my managers appeal is my player loyalty rating stat is about 9 (usually massive overhaul in the first two season at a club).

in my west ham game i started off as burnely to try and get them promoted and after 15-20 games, zola got sacked from west ham and then offered me the job as manager of west ham as i was the favourite to take over. i was only 11th in the championship and wasnt playing at all that good, the odd win and draw. after a season and half with west ham i then got offered the cameroon national job. im now 4 seasons in and still got both jobs

Manager stats make no difference to the outcome of anything in the game.

thanks all for the feedback....just to be clear.....when i say not much job offers, i mean from the big clubs....i'm up to my ears in job offers for the rest.

however i'm not clear on what stats the clubs are looking for.....i may as well start as barca, real or ac.....but it devalues the game a little bit.

that's my opinion anyway.

you have won a lot of trophies and i would be proud of what you have won never mind getting job offers lol
