Any help would be really grateful. I’ve played fm for a few years and never fully understood this.

apart from the obvious what are the differences between the two modes.

I notice that the player count decreases when changing from playable to view only.

So which players are left out?

does it effect newgens coming through?

Does it effect the save?

And are there any other differences that I could know about?

Thanks in advance

The reserves and youth teams are left out, non essential staff etc. No they wont generate fully youth intakes either.

They also won't have matches, from what I've read (I've never got into checking it as I load leagues as playable or not at all). As consequence, if you play against a team of a non playable league in Continental competition, they will be lacking match sharpness.

Also, bare bones scout reports on non-playable teams - "Not enough useful Data'
