HELP - Double Click and Preference ISSUE!!!!!

hi, ive just started to replay FM and came across this issue

out of no where i now have to double click everything to progress, i cannot use the right click for anything and i cannot change ANY of my preferences because as soon as i try to it take me back to my game or main menu...

PLEASE help this is so annoying and frustrating... i cannot find anything on the internet similar to my issue :'(

yh, its been fine today n again it froze n now double click away again
