8-|Hi there, been a fm fan for years, but this new one I havent had no luck what so ever. It doesn't matter what team I am, im always getting stuffed 3/4's nil. Last game I played I was tottenham , I didnt sign no players, so that didnt upset the squad, but my first two games I lost 4-0 nil against Blackbun and Chelsea.

I like to play 4-4-2 but I cant stop letting in goals , I have no idea what tactics work or not and I cant seem to download the tactics on here. anyhelp would be cool?

When in pre-season I always let the assistant take over on friendly's and I let him handle the media through out the year, just for quickness. Is this making my squad under perform?

any formations and team tactics would be excellent and any general help would be great because I love the game, but im about to throw it out of the window!:'(

thanks kearney102

alright pal we've all been there at some point.

4-4-2 is ok but with tottenham i would say you could be much more attacking try playing with 4 at the back but make Woodgate and King Sweepers then have ur full backs not making too many forward runs, play one holding midfielder or two in the centre mid pos. then have Lennon as AMR and Modric AML with keane and defoe or pavlyuchenko as strikers.

You also have david bentley who is pretty mint at corners, so you can play him instead of lennon sometimes, try telling King, Corluka and Woodgate to either attack the ball from deep or challenge the keeper on attacking corners. leave lennon, one full back and one centre mid back at attacking corners.

Try setting your centre halfs to really defensive and get them to play direct or long balls forward, pavlyuchenko makes for quite a good target man so you could utilise this. also set your keepers distribution to long kick aimed towards pavlyuchenko.

Another important factor is your teams mentality as performances can depend on morale. Don't go all out attack unless your at home against a really weak side and try match the mentality to your team talks or vice versa. e.g attacking football and telling your team you expect a win is a good combo.

Use the media to your advantage. The game is based on reality so you can imagine that telling players that you're dissappointed with their recent form can make them pull their fingers out and really improve. Equally telling a player you're pleased with his perforomances will often spur him on to maintain his performance levels. If a player plays really badly (below 6.0 rating) you can discipline him for poor performance. I did this with Michael Owen on my NUFC game and he soon changed his performances.

When the transfer period comes round you should have quite a lot of cash try getting some of these players

John Fleck (AML/FC) - Rangers
Davide Santon (D/WB/AM R) - Inter Milan
Alexis Sanchez (AM RL, FC) - Udinese
Alan Dzagoev (AMC) - CSKA Moscow
Marquinhos (AM RLC, FC) - Palmeiras
Keirrision (FC) - Palmeiras
Franco Zuculini (DMC) - Racing Club

They're all young and can develop into megastars and even if you don't want them in your team you'll make a profit.

Hopefully this helps u a bit mate
